Am I the only one who does not like open-ended games like Skyrim and Oblivion? I prefer playing The Witcher and Vampire the Mascarade: Bloodlines instead. What I fear here is those gamers who prefer open-ended games want to ruin great games like The Witcher, and turn it into something else, by keeping on suggesting on those threads to make the game like Skyrim. Heck even Cyberpunk 2077, while it does sounds like an interesting game, it seems the pressure here is turning the game in open-ended game too.

I think, considering the amount of gamers who prefer open-ended gamers and keep making such suggestions here, that it'd be nice to show the devs that, no, not all gamers like and play open-ended games, in fact many don't play them at all. In other words, more the devs turn their games into open-ended games, more they alienate and lose the gamers like me who can't stand such games.

If The Witcher would have been open-ended, I would have never bought it, same for the second. Seems to me The Witcher serie is therefore NOT open-ended, and should keep things that way. I don't go on open-ended games boards and demand from the devs to turn their games into linear ones, I content myself with not buying their games.

I bought TW2 EE recently and I've been checking out mods for it. Some say that mods using def_shops per example, will be conflicting. I've been wondering if it's possible to just use Notepad and open the mods def_shops and just add the lines to the def_shops file that is already there from the first mod? And is it possible with other files as well?

I just finished The Witcher and totally loved it. I ordered the second one (EE), should arrive soon by the mail. The thing is that I'd like to play all those adventures made for TW1 now but I have no idea how to start them. I've put them in C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\The Witcher folder. So how do you access them?

When I got in I was surprised to see how "fancy" the crypt is, I even saw paintings on the walls. But the most marvelous zone is the huge beautiful bedroom filled with tapestries, books, etc. The room is filled with candles too, which means that someone comes there to lighten them up. I'm really mesmerized by this room. I wonder who lives there. Does the game ever answers that one?

The devourers are the last trade contract to finish and I have no idea where to find some.
