I've been talking about The Witcher 3 on another forums, and another fan who does not like open-ended games like Skyrim, is also worried about how the serie, and The Witcher 3, is turning into.

When I say open-ended I mean games like Skyrim and Oblivion.

I've noticed modders don't mention at all that you can add those other mods using something like Notepad, they just say their mods are not compatible with other mods concerning x file. So that is why I've been pondering whether doing that what the right thing to do or not. I use NotePad2 personally though instead of Notepad that comes with Windows.

I don't plan to mod at all, I have zero skills in that department. I just want to use the mods I want to use to play the game.

It seems though when you play those adventures you lose everything: raven armor, kickass swords, no skill, poor, mods (like Stuff that makes Geralt easier), etc. Or have I made a mistake?

I moved all my saves from the game elsewhere except for the last one, is that the cause?
