Topics I've Started
02.11.2013 @ 23:39There are tons of new things in new book. New signs, monsters, facts, characters, countries etc. For those that are interested, but can't or don't want to read book. I will post them in two sections. Spoilers free section and section with spoilers.
There are witchers that didn't fully transform into mutants. They have medallions with symbol of cat. Some of them are not mentally stable and most of them betrayed witcher's codex. They often works as spies, assassins and stuff like that. It seems that they are one of reasons of bad reputation that witchers have.
New Sign - Somne. It puts enemy in daze, weaker enemies may fall asleep.
Some facts about witcher's swords. Not all witcher's swords are made from meteorite ore (those are rare). Most of witcher's swords are made out of magnetite ore. Even tho swords made out of meteorites are more prestigious, there is no real difference between those two types of swords in real combat.
Also there are detailed characteristics of witcher's swords. Both steel and silver swords has similar length and weight. They are 40,5 inches long and they weight around 1,1kg.
New Monster - Aguara. Female monster. They can take form of fox, woman or form of woman with head of fox. They abduct elven kids and transform them into their own. Elves seems to accept fate of abducted kids and they don't try to get them back. They are very powerful beings that can create great illusions, but they are not powerful as they were in the past times.
Facts with slight spoilers:
There is castle called Rissberg. It's sorcerers laboratory where they perform genetic experiments and they create new monsters and other weird beings like half-trolls half-ogres. They do those experiments supposedly to make mankind better, improve humans and make them better than other races. It's not-so-far from Novigrad, so it would be nice if we would see it in the game, but I doubt that.
Mages that created witchers were called Cosimo Malaspina and Alzur.
It seems that Geralt in book's plot-line is also fully alive. Book ends with scene where Geralt 100 years after his supposed death saves a girl, she recognizes him, so he uses Somne on her to make her fall asleep and forget him.
There are more new facts, but I will post them later.
26.09.2013 @ 06:22DICE together with AMD made new API called mantle. It's open and it's designed to replace current most popular API - DirectX. According to DICE it can do 9 times more draw calls than DirectX thanks to the fact that it doesn't use CPU as much as DirectX. It's still in experimental phase, but it will be used in Battlefield 4. In December there will be an update for BF4 that will allow AMD users to switch rendering from DirectX to Mantle to test it out.
It's an open API, so if nVidia would want to, then they can use it their graphics card too.

You know... It's not a good idea to turn off physics for 80% of your customers. />/>
18.02.2013 @ 17:05Today Eurogamer has wrote news about it:
And it seems that in comment section everyone agrees that Skyrim was a good, but generic game.
I wanted to add this to topic that was closed, as a proof that not only we, fans of TW, think so.
05.02.2013 @ 12:03So based on that we will see Novigrad, Skellige and No Man's Land in TW3 I took a map of TW world and cut out part of mentioned world.
For those who don't know:
Free city of Novigrad is big city with the biggest harbor in Northern Kingdoms. You can find the most exotic goods there. It's on the top of the map.
Skellige is country that is located on archipelago. People that lives there are like Vikings. They are known for having women muscular as men and hating Nilfgaard as hell. This is the only country that never stopped fighting against Nilfgaard after first war (they stopped after second war).
No Man's Land will be probably land between two armies. Probably near Verden's line of castles near river Jaruga. You can see those castles on the bottom of the map.
So we can assume that we will see also Brookilon - forest of the driads.
