Topics I've Started
03.09.2013 @ 22:28Saw this on YouTube over the weekend:
Looks like the game is shaping up nicely. Love the art style, reminds of animated films. Plus it has turn based combat and a choice system that will have real effects in-game. The lack of voice overs isn't a problem for me, with text they can have a much deeper story.
Last I heard they're shooting for a 2013 release.

23.08.2013 @ 01:22One of the editors at Forbes (which, surprisingly, does some very good games journalism) has a new book about D&D. Sounds like an interesting read. The influence of D&D on gaming has been profound. As we all know, some of the best CRPG's are straight up D&D. While I moved on to other systems(mostly GURPS), I have a soft spot for D&D, it was the first RPG I ever played and ultimately led me to The Witcher. Haven't played a PnP game in years but I have many fond memories of long evenings with friends and piles of snacks. Anyway the book is available in dead trees or electrons. Here's a link:
Love the title
09.08.2013 @ 00:56Brad Kane over at Tor is starting a new blog that will focus on storytelling and world building in books, games, TV/Movies, etc. Could be interesting.

The first post was just an introduction, in the second he writes about Tolkien...guess you have to do him first, eh?
Tor.com is actually a pretty cool site. They post short stories & novellas, do reviews on genre movies & TV shows, author spotlights and more. I enjoy the rewatch and reread series, the Farscape and Batman:the Animated series ones are especially good.
23.04.2013 @ 13:50Thor is back...and Loki...and Odin...and Sif...and could those be The Dark Elves? No sign of The Warriors Three but they can't not be in it(hopefully). Looks like they went more for a cosmic/Asgardian story. I'm now officially psyched for this.
