Cyberpunk 2077: Putting the Punk Back Into Cyberpunk
Mike Pondsmith shares his thoughts on what Cyberpunk is about and RED express some of their design philosophies and how they will be implement their ideas in the game.
Not really new info but an interesting read nonetheless
It gives me hope that CP2077 will be absolutely groundbreaking and I simply can't wait to play it!
It's crazy. RED is developing The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. If RED was a woman I'd marry her! -
Crytek: Graphics Are “60% Of The Game”
12.04.2013 @ 21:40
Holy fuckin' shit.
Well, there you go. We've reduced an interactive medium to an arbitrary number of pixels projected on our screen and a machine calculating whether or not the grass should be swaying in the wind right now. Apparently that's why we chose video games as our hobbies, that's what entices us. Screw Super Mario Bros., Bastion, Okami, Shadow of the Colossus, Morrowind, they can all go to hell. This guy gets it, Mr. Yerli doesn't. In fact, I'm not even sure Yerli understands the medium or is talking about graphics in the wrong context.
To illustrate a point, I ask you to play Loneliness. There's virtually no graphics, I mean it's just a simple flash game, white background with white dots. It couldn't get any more simpler than that. But I had a more profound experience with that game than I had with any of the Crysis games. Play the game, and share with us what you felt and thought. It's not the tech that moves people, it's what you can do with it to stimulate the audience in a positive way that moves people.

Skyrim: Share Your Characters!
16.02.2013 @ 00:32
Yo yo yo fellow peeps and pipettes!
So Witcher 3 was announced rather recently and my socks blew off due to my excitement. As a result, I decided to reinstall Skyrim to get into the open world atmosphere a bit and revisit my Witcher inspired Khajiit. In my effort to subside my hype and calm my nerves down, I was thinking, hey! Surely the good people of the Witcher community has some of their own awesome stories and characters to share from TES? Thus, we've come to this point. Share your characters, feel free to tell a short story or explain his background and also include pictures!
I guess since I started this semi-stupid thread, I'll go first!
Meet Maefuun the Merry, The Wayfaring Vagabond! I've invested about 200 hours into this one character. Pretty crazysauce I know! There are no classes in Skyrim but I made up my own ^^ He's a humble wanderer from Elsweyr, on a quest for answers and knowledge. He left his peaceful dojo where he was mastering the art of meditation, stealth, subterfuge, bow and sword, when he was forced to kill his sensei who was slowly but surely turning the school into a killing clan for unethical warlords and the Aldmeri Dominion. Now he's on the run from his home, hiding from both the new masters of his dojo and also his fellow classmates who think he did it out of spite and jealousy.
He found out while on his travels that his memories of his past life before coming to the dojo had been fabricated. He stumbled across, while on the deserts of the Khajiit nation, the same genie who created an artificial memory for him. The genie told Maefuun that he'd come to the spectre and asked for a wish: that his memory of his true life be erased, and that he could start a new life honing his skills as a warrior to ensure that he would never experience what he'd seen, again. In order to live a peaceful and happy life, he settled in a quiet dojo where he spent his time learning and, for once, living.
Maefuun, struck with a sudden urge of curiosity and insight, thought that he could perhaps find the answer to how to solve his current predicament in his true past. He was done running and hiding, he was going to solve this, one way or another. The genie directed Maefuun to Skyrim, where he would find an Elder Scroll, the only tool that had the power to restore someone's memory. With the knowledge of his past back to him, he could finally return to Elsweyr and confront his fellow students. And hopefully, he could convince them of the truth and gain his former friends as allies against the Aldmeri Dominion and the ruthless, elusive bandit generals that's been contracting the dojo to perform assassinations that rival even the Dark Brotherhood!
Pictures time!
Here he is, The Wayfaring Vagabond in all his glory!
Maefuun is trying to solve the most enigmatic riddle of all time: Women
Here's Maefuun with a drunk Orsimer
Aaaaand finally here's me cleaning Paarthurnax. You'll be surprised how much dust you can find in between dragon scales!

Only Human Witchers?
21.09.2012 @ 00:01
I saw the Female Witchers thread which sparked a question that I've had for quite a long time.
I've played both Witcher games, love them. They're beyond amazing. If they were women, I'd bang them. Since I haven't read the books, I feel like I'm kinda fumbling in the dark when it comes to the lore of the Witcher universe. From the mountain of different questions I have about the Witcher lore, the most prevalent one is:
Can only human be Witchers? Why aren't there any dwarf/elven Witchers? Is there a dwarf/elven monster slaying order equivalent to the Witcher one? Do they even care about monsters? How come it was specifically humans who got up one morning and thought "hey! Wouldn't it be awesome if we had an order dedicated to killing all kinds of different monstrosities and we do so by augmenting humans through mutation and let them do what they do best!"
