So this is a thread about dreams, If you want to make a mod but don't have free time and you just wanna put your ideas out there and just wanna discuss the potential problems and gather some motivation so you'll be excited to start it when you actually can.

Witcher 1 Chapter 1 REMAKE

I was talking before about how nearly all the assets for Chapter 1 are in W2 and all that's needed is to arrange em all nice. What about the Barghests? make them green Werewolves (don't know if you could put effects like the incineration or wraith mist on them) Ghouls can be replaces by Greater Rotfiends. Maybe Echinopsae can be changed into the Kayran's tentacles?



Houses from Lobinden can be used for the poor sector while the houses near La Vallete castle or Flotsam can be used for the rich part of the outskirts. Vergens burial chambers with caves could be the Catacombs. I'm not sure if there was a church in TW2 though.

Characters like Kalkstien and Leeuvarden would be hard though since there's no one I could think of in TW2 who could fit their roles. Shani can probably be someone who doesn't look like Ves with Ves's hair.

As for the voice files if we ask CDPR nicely I'm sure they'd give it. What do you guys think is it doable or did I miss stuff?

He's unique and yet he gets so little screen time so he'd be good for a protagonist in mod adventure. He seems really loyal to Foltest so maybe he'd have a investigation of his own to try to find the Kingslayer wouldn't that be cool? Maybe he could track down those 'witnesses' that Letho talks about. In the end he may encounter Letho in the woods or something and get promptly killed.

It's nice CDPR put these modern day like conflict of bioweapons and surveillance/invasion of privacy stuff.

My question is Is Emyhr likely to use the bacteria strains that killed the Vrans? or will he lock it away/destroy it because it's too dangerous.

Cynthia says the North can't handle it and "Emhyr's civilized manicured hands" can but what does that really mean? The North will probably destroy itself if it gets it's hands on it but what about Emyhr? Maybe his behavior from the books could shed some light on what he'd do? (have not read them other than the wiki)

What are the alternative choices? If we don't take the quest will Radovid get it since he sent some soldiers down there or will no one get it? It'd be weird if the best course of action is to not take the quest seeing as it's such and interesting one.

What were Cynthia's motivations for letting you try the prototype megascope? She says that she "likes you" which seems like fucking bullshit to me. She's expressionless in the sex scene which makes me believe that she's planning something.

Obviously in the News thread some people were upset and concerned over the article in Game Informer about the how politically devoid it was and I wanted to start a thread about how CDPR markets their stuff.

I remember how Witcher 2 was marketed and I thought from the previews I've watched that they didn't market the best part of the game which was the fork in the story between Iorveth and Roche or how morally ambiguous the choices are. You could say that 'It'd give away too much of the story' but they could say something like "Depending on your decision in one chapter you could be in you'd have an entirely new location,story and quests that are totally different if you chose something else." and they could compare it to other RPGs where only a few lines of dialog change and you don't really see the outcome of those choices.

How does everyone feel about Geralt's new design? Obviously the beard isn't the problem they're always awesome. We've talked about the news thread but I wanted to discuss it in detail.

Personally I find the silhouette kind of boring and rather thief and ninja like since it's so skin tight. Maybe it's supposed to tell us that he's an agile fighter which is fine but it's a bit too much imo.

We also lost Geralts cool thick scabbard belt with pouch thing with a strap and a small itty bitty pouch on his left (our right).

Well some people might say that's just the default armor and we'll get new ones later on which is right but this design might be on the poster.

It just doesn't scream Witcher to me.
