Topics I've Started
Yesterday, 09:52 PMYOU CAN ONLY... SURRENDER.
22.06.2013 @ 15:44I've been through TW1 again last week and among other things, one bothered me a lot more than others, because it was also there in TW2.
Of course I like the music and the visuals, both in TW1 and TW2.
But I can't see how a minigame solely based on luck can be interesting to anyone in a video game.
Admit it: at least one time, you reloaded a save because you lost a game of dice poker in TW1 or TW2 and didn't like the outcome (against Foltest or the Gambling Ghost for instance). That's not roleplaying, I know, but you have to give RNG the finger sometimes.
In fact, I also disliked fistfighting (QTE: meh) and arm wrestling (however, it's the "best" of the three minigames in my opinion, it has more potential I guess).
I can't remember if there's something about those gentlemen's leasures in the books, but I don't mind if they disappear completely in TW3. At least they need to be re-thought (imagine if you're able to discretly cast a little Aard on the table against your opponent or place mini-Yrden somewhere to turn over a dice) or even replaced...
So I don't want a DRM-free game only, I also desire a DPM(Dice Poker Minigame)-free TW3.
11.06.2013 @ 00:31Time travel in The Witcher 3: wishful thinking?
- At the end of TW2: "the past is the key to the future."
- The trailer "confirmed" Ciri as an NPC. Ciri's power, as a Source, is to (spoilers from the books) bend time and space.
- There seems to be at least two "states" of Geralt to me. The "grim world" Geralt seen in the CGI parts of the trailer (and on the cover of the latest issue of Edge), with a grown beard, "tired" look; the usual Geralt seen in the in game cutscenes shown in the trailer.
- This may help to see some "choices" imported through TW3: Anaïs as a grown-up, Henselt without heir, the child you gave to Seherim.
I know witchers don't age like ordinary people. And I also know beard doesn't mean years. But the CGI Geralt really look older to me.
Am I imagining things?
