At the moment I'm playing The Witcher Enhanced Edition and I'm up to chapter 3. This is my first time playing the game so my opinion on it may change after I've completed it.
What I love:
The side quests
The overall game play (in terms of battle sequences)
Environmental changes during game play (rain, day and night etc.)
The graphics
The price (I picked up my copy from steam for under $5)
What I hate:
The game crashes on my computer from time to time
The fact that the game is overally sexualized.
I am a female gamer, and I don't appreciate the idea of sex cards, kinky clothing (have you seen the underwear that the female characters wear?), straight out in your face nudity, and the idea of in order to complete some the quests you have to sleep with people.
This might sound like a Feminist rant (no, I'm not a Feminist, I hold to Egalitarianism) but its a shame in my mind, that a brilliant game such as The Witcher comes with extra stuff that isn't necessary and unfortunately in this case, weighs it down.
Who were the developers trying to appeal to, teenage boys who are 'forever alone', or the general audience of gamers? I hope that this has been improved upon in The Witcher 2.
Come to think of it, are there any mods out there that censor some of the material in the game?
