I've played both the games and read all the books(fan translations), so at the end of finishing Witcher 2 on EE, the question I want to ask everyone is that - ultimately, what do you think of Geralt himself?
I really liked the way the count and baron on Roche's path (granted, they both had issues) raised some really good points as to Geralt's motivation and character - like, when Maravel remarks on the inborn instinct of the common folk in Witcherverse to hate and fear the very people whose exploits they make songs and legends out of, Geralt just responds "It's the way of things."
From that POV, Geralt actually appears disillusioned and having a defeatist altitude (same as in the end of the books) as opposed to Letho (btw one of the best antagonists I've seen in any game) appears to be actively trying to save his order and ensure survival of the School of the Viper (albeit in a *very* wrongheaded manner). The books also emphasize this with his imagery of "pissing upwind", plus all that he sees in his "Save Ciri" quest. Lots of other points about his character put up too...(though his actions in the games is mostly left to us to shape, which is kind of the point)
So, at the end of all the events that happen in Witcherverse, and at this very moment, what do you make of Geralt of Rivia?
