Topics I've Started

  1. Storing/Burning installation files in DVD

    31.10.2012 @ 20:39

    Hello everyone.

I have The Witcher 1 Enhanced Edition downloaded from GOG.com on my PC, using the GOG Downloader. Now, I was thinking of burning/ storing the installation files into a DVD for safe keeping first, and secondly because I need to do a spring cleaning, sort of, on my PC.

My question is whether burning the files would work, or there is some kind of prohibition and/or limitation I am not aware of. Has anyone done it before?

    Thank you in advance.
  2. Stennis & Ioverth's Scoia'tael location [SPOILERS]

    31.07.2012 @ 01:46

During my current playthrough I decided to let Prince Stennis get lynched by the angry peasants. When I spoke to Ioverth right after I noticed that the location of the Scoia'tael archers depends on your decision about Stennis:

    1. If you allow Stennis to have a fair trial,

Ioverth: I've had enough of the peasants and nobles barking. Saskia's the best leader I know, but she can't hope to defeat Henselt's army with this rabble. Which is why I'm going to get reinforcements.
    Geralt: Where?
Ioverth: Four Scoia'tael units await in hiding to the east. Time to summon them.

    2. If you let Stennis get lynched by the mob,

Ioverth: I'll get reinforcements. The Scoia'tael are more numerous than you think. Time to summon them. I'll leave shortly.
Geralt: You won't get through the fog.
Ioverth: I don't intend to. Mountains may stop human armies, but not the Scoia'tael. I'm going south.

For some reason I find the East vs South location of the Scoia'taels intriguing, and I am wondering whether there is a purpose and a possible political implication. We know that Nilfgaard is to the South, but we also know Ioverth hates Nilfgaardians. [At least, this is what I understood after listening to his story about the Valley of the Flowers.) Therefore, implying that Ioverth's Scoia'taels are hidden or "assisted" by the Empire wouldn't make any sense.

Or, it would make sense, if the Devs have already made a rough sketch of TW 3 plot, and have decided to bring the world upside down in the next installment.

Or, most probably I'm reading too much into it and have let my imagination run wild.

In any case, I find it weird to say the least. What do you guys and galls think? Why the decision about letting Stennis die or live affects the location of Ioverth's reinforcements?
