    But I actually agree about that the beginning is quite hard and later on it gets easy, it should be the other way around.

    Exactly and if they are doing it right, we would miss lots of interesting events/quests/points of interests or whatever if we would use fast travel.

    no, there is some mistake on GOG, it's only 6gb.

    Dunno, but my launcher updated to 3.4 and I can launch REDKit from there.

    have you tried to launch it directly from the directory (*:\The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition\bin\editor.exe) ?
