Posts I've Made
20.09.2013 @ 23:50Been a while since I posted and unfortunately it's with irritating news (which may have been posted elsewhere but I couldn't see it):
Got my copy of Times of Contempt in the post (huzzah!) then got this today:
I am terribly sorry to inform you that on this occasion we have been unable to fulfil part of your order.
If your order was a pre-order unfortunately, information ahead of publication is not foolproof so a new title may be cancelled or postponed indefinitely. An edition scheduled for reprinting may be similarly abandoned by the publishers.
which was for the upcoming Baptism of Fire. Bummer (although I'd ordered the hardcover so maybe they're only going to release a paperback...Amazon is conflicting on that front).
22.02.2013 @ 11:20No, while I may play TW2 with a gamepad, they're PC games at heart. I'll be grabbing it from GOG on the PC, although if I get a PS4, I could see me picking up a second copy at some point, especially if there's an awesome special edition...
10.02.2013 @ 06:16Brütal Legend II, Star Wars Battlefront III...The Witcher: Rise of the White Wolf (just because I'm curious how they would have made the mouse-centric game playable on consoles)

Ward Dragon said:Edit: Also, did they say who did the translations for Time of Contempt and Baptism of Fire? Is it the same person who did The Last Wish and Blood of Elves?
No idea on the translator, unfortunately. I got my info from the UK site Book Depository and it wouldn't surprise me if the UK editions were published before the US editions.
Oh, and to cmdr_flashheart - the fan translations available here do compare favourably to the official translations, and actually succeed a bit more in drawing out the dry, understated humour of the originals (Slightly less so for The Sword of Destiny, although I believe that collection of short stories was translated by other people at some point in the past).
08.02.2013 @ 22:20Well, good news for us (a brief scan couldn't turn this up in other topics but it may have already been put out there) - looks like there's actual dates given for the next two books to be released in English. 20th of June for Time of Contempt, and 15th of August for Baptism of Fire, according to Book Depository.
Of course, that's just a retailer's database (I used to work at Borders, I know how much that's worth) but it seems the games have given the series enough hype to kick the publisher's backside into gear (and does this cover look familiar?)
