  1. In Topic: will witcher 3 support new techs...

I think as Yurtex mentions Oculus Rift would most likely require a first person perspective, and I don't think there's any compelling reason for CDPR to implement that... so most likely we won't see OR support either. Or does Oculus Rift work with 3rd person cameras as well?
  2. In Topic: Full combat rebalance 2

The 'not bumping away on block' is interesting, I think. Most enemies don't have a clear animation to tell whether they will block or not, and in some cases their counter attack on blocking yours is unavoidable (gargoyles are damn annoying to fight without quen for that reason). I'm fine with the staggering on block, but if it's impossible to judge whether your attack will get blocked or not AND there is no way to avoid the counter attack, that's problematic, especially since you die so quickly on higher difficulties.

On the other hand, being able to continue your combos without interruption might upset combat balance... we'll have to see, though I don't doubt the mod will be great.
  3. In Topic: Mods we wish we could make if we had the time or patience.

Honestly, though the remake of TW1 sounds interesting at first we've all already played that game and could play it again if we wanted to. The 'better graphics' (because TW1 still has a fantastic artstyle, and I don't want to get into a discussion about which game looks better) really don't warrant the time and effort needed, and I'd much rather see new and custom adventures such as Lykaon.
  4. In Topic: Post Arkham: The future of superhero games

    19.05.2013 @ 16:11

I guess X-Men has potential, but really any game that's not just about shooting or punching is much more challenging to make, so especially for a 'video game based on...' a total fuckup is very likely. Translating those cool magic-mutant-superpowers into interesting gameplay is quite difficult.
  5. In Topic: Roche vs Iorveth Path ending

Bloth, thank you very much for roughly 30 seconds of quality entertainment. Hic, you may want to get your trolling sensors readjusted : P

On topic, I actually think both are plausible outcomes: only a very limited amount of people know of Philippa's enchantment, and Geralt and Triss will probably have moved on and not tried to defend Vergen - especially with Geralt's memory restored and the war with Nilfgaard broken out I don't think they will bother with politics anymore.
Iorveth is wounded and as a Scoiatael he is a social outcast as well, so if it's his word against Philippa's/Saskia's the best he can do is cause civil unrest and possibly even warring factions in Vergen.

However, all of that depends on word of Philippa's deception not getting out to more people, which in turn depended on the slaughter of everyone present at Loc Muinne, which failed. At any rate, Upper Aedirn is unlikely to fall under Philippa's control without any further struggle.
