Topics I've Started
11.03.2013 @ 23:16Hi folks!
To be honest, i haven't played much RPGs besides The Witcher (1+2) and Elder Scrolls (Oblivion and Skyrim) in the last few years, so i don't know how this is handled by other (Open World-)RPGs, but there is one thing that really bugs me in the otherwise great open worlds of the latest Elder Scrolls-titles:
The cities, especially the capital cities like Imperial City in Cyrodiil or Solitude in Skyrim, are bad jokes in terms of sheer size. Skyrim's "big capital city" Solitude is like 20 houses big, with literally one street. I really love the world in Skyrim and i wandered through it for over 150 hours, but the so-called "cities" should better be called "really small villages with stone walls around it".
In The Witcher 3 we will see Novigrad. It's one of the biggest cities in the northern kingdoms with nearly 30.000 citizens as mentioned in the books from Andrzej Sapkowski. I'm pretty sure, we won't see a a city that actually can hold 30.000 people, but with the (bad) memories i had with Oblivion or Skyrim, and the fact that Novigrad is just one place of many on the map of The Witcher 3, i'm concerned with the scale of the actual ingame-cities!
Did CDPR mentioned something about the size of the cities yet?
