[Act V] Can't break the barriers to exit Old Vizima
06.04.2008 @ 07:14 #1
I ended up on the Order's side... don't ask me how... but although I got through one barricade to reach White Rayna, I simply cannot find another barricade that is smashable that will allow me to continue on. I've tried everything. This is getting to be a game-breaker for me. I have tried to smash every barricade left and right, and there is still no area I can continue on through. Yes, I've read the walkthrough, but it tells me nothing of relevance. What am I doing wrong? This seems like a complete game-breaker for me at this point, and I'm beyond annoyed. Can anyone give me a clue? I'd appreciate it immensely.

I've installed all patches, am running 1.2. I've used Aard at every barricade on both left and right. I've searched the forum and read every post I can find on barricades. I can go no further. Is there anything I'm missing? Is this a verified bug, and if so is there a work around? Do I have to go back to a previous save before I enter Old Vizema?
This is very annoying.

You probably figured it out by now, but I too just had this problem, also on the Order path. And I just couldn't get into the hospital. Wasn't even sure if that's what I was supposed to do. The back door is locked and the front door was simply inactive every time I went up to it. Finally I randomly ran up to it and saw the door icon, entered and advanced the story. Patch 1.3 For anyone searching (like me) for help on this, and on the Order path keep trying that front door.

When you side with the Order (and the Scoia'tael) you have to enter through the front door. If you take the neutral path you enter the hospital through the back door. That's no bug ;) Though it's strange that you found the door inactive the first time you wanted to enter the hospital o_O
I can see what you see not, Visions milky then eyes rot.
When you turn they will be gone, whispering their hidden song.
Then you see what cannot be, shadows move where light should be.
Out of darkness, out of mind – cast down into the Halls of the Blind…

Its usually inactive if you are in battle mode only. After battle it will also take a few seconds for it to become active again, as with all interactive non combat objects.

There barricades vary depending on which path you choose. You must break through three of them but they are not the same three for each path. Use the map option to find your next target and Aard will work if it is the correct barricade.

do you have the latest patch ? and have you read through this and the links provided ?
It's possible that you could do something about the bugginess ... I've been playing it for months and months and months (many different runs) and it's been no buggier for me than any other game, and in fact rather less so than many.

If you sided with the Order then you must kill every last scoia'tael. Do not spend your time running around in the barriers like a rat in a cage, spend your time killing. Once you kill every last Scoia'tail in town you will go through several scene cuts and finally end up in the swamp where you will be quickly overcome and killed by swamp creatures.

I have been all over this map, Arding everything.Any help would be appreciated.
I'm assuming that you're in Chapter V. Are you on the Order path?
Check out this map for a list of where the barricades are: http://guides.gamepr...ide.asp?ID=3827

I've made three new adventures for TW1; you can get them at corylea.com/.
I've also made a bunch of mods that fix bugs, kill annoyances or tweak gameplay; you can get those at the Witcher Nexus.
