i've also found that if you restart the combination after he says that he needs to try a different combination it works ... it basically cycles through :peace:

The stone "remembers" signs that you've cast close to it, even if those signs were cast at an enemy, rather than at it. So, if you used an Igni at an enemy, then went to the stone and cast Igni, Igni, Aard, the stone counts the first Igni -- from the fight -- then the second two Ignis and believes that you've cast Igni, Igni, Igni. When you start over, it still has the Aard from the end of your sequence in its memory, so then it thinks you've cast Aard, Igni, Igni.
I *think* it will re-set if you leave the area (enough for a new loading screen) and then enter it again. Try leaving and re-entering, then cast Igni, Igni, Aard.
Hi there !
I´m just stucked in old mine crypt ( I took elvens path) and the combo to get in was Igni Igni Aard, but don´t work to get out. It´s possible the stone is keeping tries of signs on it after many loading and reloading of the game ? If Geralt is inside a crypt so is impossible to get out for another area just to reset the stone. So what to do ?

Well the stone should reset each time you cast threee signs. The right sequence it's this ine, but sometimes it stuck if you cast them in the wrong order.
Try casting something wrong, for example: aard\aard\aard. Then cast the right sequence.
If it still doesn't work, try reloading a previous savegame.
And yes, if you want Geralt out of the crypt, you should recast the same sequence.
Hope this help
