Hello everyone from this side of the ocean, we are the only one that dont have a dedicated fansite and, i think it is time to get onto it.

I would like some help in building it, i dont have a lot of knowledge on how to create a website but, i am in a learning process. When i start something, i dont give up. I can manage evrything and take care of the coordination, gather the info, moderate the forum etc etc... Also, i will take care of the technical support over there !

If you would like to join, let me know, tell me what you can do, teamwork will be our best asset !!

Any volunteer ?

I don't have huge amounts of free time, but would be willing to help out where I can, I'm a web developer by dayjob, both background as freelancer and in house, including dynamic sites for 8 or 9 years. And I've designed and built sites, including fairly sizeable sites, from the "notes on a napkin" stage to full production, for what it's worth.

<and this is the first game I have EVER been motivated to offer to join in on a fansite.... had even thought of starting one, but wasn't quite up to the committment of that much additional solo project>

Awesome, you are the kind of people i am looking for. Someone that is willing to do it for the game itself.

As i have said in previous posts, this game brought back fate in RPG to me, and what i do, i do it simply for the love of this game. All the time i have, i spend it for this game without actualy playing it :)

I am still not out of act 1 after 3 months but, i still enjoy it. I love to help people with the problems they have. It will be the same for the website. If i have a container, i will add the content, both in french and English.

Even if you dont have a lot of time, what you give is a lot to me, i am on no rush and never will i put any pressure on anyone for anything. It's all about having fun, working in team and, doing as CDPR did, giving to other quality products !!

When we will have enough, if you want some of the things i would love to have, let me know, i will send it to you. I will either setup an email for it or we can use the one i already have. A forum will be something to look at for the building process so it will be easier to brainstorm share ideas and, choose the task we want to :)

Edit PS: Looked at your site, Very nice work :)

I can provide hosting and email, if you have a domain name, however, I only have space for small email accounts at present (and the site would have to generate a speck of income to cover costs if it started getting wads and wads of traffic, but we can cross that bridge when we get to it). I can install a forum application, and a blog for planning, a wiki, whatever, we will probably have to work out some of the site structure details. My free time is mostly weekends. On my site is a document I inflict on people when they want to have websites. Its long. its tedious. it's a very good exercise for site planning. Suggest you snag it, spend some time with it. <evil laugh>

Thank you for the feedback on my rambling large site. :)

And no need to rush through this game. its a game meant to be savored like a glass of fine wine or a microbrewery ale, not a race to the finish line.

Wait a minute... I just looked at your profile. You're THAT Mobidoy. The Witcher Tech Support Guru, who as I recall, thoroughly helped optimize my gaming with the pagefile advice. <bows to the Sensei>

And yeah, I'm doing it for the game itself. :)

On the what you want in the site, just start a laundry list, include everything including the kitchen sink. its easier to design for growth, like designing a house where you know its smaller right now, but later you are going to add a deck, so put the sliding doors HERE, and you are going to later add on an extra room, so design accordingly. I know I want a place for mods and modders also, even though I don't mod, I love modders. :)

See, i will be doing my homework and will look at your doc...

As for the host, domain etc, for now, we can look up at something generic.

This will be a thing to look at, generating financing for the site, but, as you say, no need to rush on to it but it was already in my planning. We will see how much activity is generated on the site then, we will have time to get something up.

No rush but, i will keep an eye on everything that i can so we dont get surprises. I am doing forecast and planning all the time so, we should be fine :)

Now, if we can get more peeps :)

I think I need to code faster.... I put together a FAST one page site, with a FAST quick and dirty logo from a screencapture from the game.... and FOOM... suddenly the banner is humungous on Mobidoy's sigfile......

Looks like the site has to come together faster.

Anybody got a time machine I can borrow?

Dont worry, i didn't link it... nobody will know the site adress lol !!

More seriously, it is only to show that something big is coming up, you could put something like "Stay tune, will be right back after the break" LOL !
