i just checked the download and its fine, it is rapidshare so maybe you have exceeded a maximum number of downloads?

I tried it and its not working. I still get the thunder sound every so often (not always, but before using this "fix" it also did not happen all the time) when starting in a new area after transition and especially when loading a savegame (either before or after the "fix").

Man this did the trick - that crashing sound was driving me nuts. I was hitting mute on my speakers before entering a house. Thanks for the fix!

I also did a minor edit and copied gui_close.wav into the sounds00 folder, and renamed it gui_button.wav; that made the rather loud button click noise in the menu to the less noisy 'close menu' sound.
