Swallow and Tawny Owl are good choices, but also visit a Place of Power and do the Magic Ritual to boost your sign intensity before taking on this plant. Just use Igni. Run up to it, blast it, then run out of its reach (but not so far that it goes back into the ground). Rest a bit then repeat the above. With patience, you'll kill it.

ooh, good one.  I don't recall seeing a place of power in teh swamp, though, and I'm pretty sure I've been through the whole thing.  Do you remember where it is?

I saw the Quen sign place in the cave, but that's all I recall.

There's a Place of Power at the Shrine of Melitele, and a couple more around the swamps. Good luck!

Yea
there are 3 in total. One is near the tower, another is near the Bricker's village and the last is next to Melitele sanctuary.

Like you I had big trouble the first time I played. I thought that monster was impossible.

The second time around, I didn't even realise that I had met the boss echinops - it was so easy. (I tried it twice more just to be sure).

Hit it with Igni and use the torch as the weapon. After hitting me initially, it died without being able to hit me a second time.  I had previously drunk Tawny Owl which restored the Endurance quickly.

Incidentally the torch is a very effective weapon. There are a number of monsters that are quickly demolished by fire. 8)

True, although not for very long if playing hard difficulty.

@abyss111
You used an axe? Dude, you're the first person I heard of who fought bosses with non-sword weapons....

I mean, chopping down a tree with an axe sounds logical and all, but I never used it because it cannot be used in witcher style combat. What difficulty were you on BTW?
In suspended animation.
