I bought the game the week after it was released and it is quite brilliant. So much so that I went out and ordered the book "The Last Wish". This is also excellent but I was just wondering: why does the author use so many Irish language words?? For example "Tedd Deireadh"? Deireadh means "end" in the Irish language. Also there's a character called "Eist Tuirseach".."Eist" means "listen" and "tuirseach" means "tired". Listen Tired?
The Elder Speech, used by elves, dryads and humans of Skellige and Nilfgaard, is modelled on several real languages, and includes many words of Celtic origin.
Sapkowski uses Celtic words (among others) but he also uses "artistic licence" which means that he is sometimes more interested in how certain words sound or look like than in their original meaning or if they make sense ;D
