[Act IV] Using The Wreath of Immoretelles
30.11.2007 @ 01:46 #1
I think this may be a bug, and am wondering if it's just me, or if this is the way it goes for everyone.
So, I got the Wreath of Immortelles from the Hermit's reward, figuring that it might come in handy later.
Later on, I completed the quest involving freeing Alina's spirit by way of Dandelion's poetic exchange, during which her sister Celina also appeared. After Alina's spirit passed on, Celina was still there on the hillside with me, so I spoke to her, and was given 2 options to the effect of:
1) I want to help you
2) You're a dangerous monster, as you were in life
Being a nice guy and an eminently forgiving soul, I chose option 1, and she mentioned that I could crown her with the Wreath of Immortelles to free her spirit as well. So I did.
The screen went dark for a moment, as though a cutscene was going to play, then it looped back up and I was at the beginning of Celina's conversation again.
Once again, I picked option 1, once again she commented on the Wreath, and once again I gave it to her. This time she walked off a short distance and then vanished.
However, when I report back to Julian that Alina's soul has been freed, the dialogue mentions tha there was nothing I could do for Celina.
What? >:(
Plus, the wreath is gone from my inventory, so I can't go back and try to give it to her again.
Has anyone else had this issue or found a way around it?
I hate not getting credited for quests I should have been able to complete, especially in a game like this, where even seemingly insignificant choices can end up making a substantial difference.

Heh, well good that I am just at that point. I have a safe game not long from the rewards choice of the hermit. Think I am gonna take the hut after all :)
Or not...gosh this game is testing my abilities to make decisions...

I'm glad i chose the Hut as a prize after reading this thread. There was a few nice items in there aswell. Bonus! :D
EDIT. Hmm not so good, it seems like i can't store anything in there anyway. But thinking about it there would be no point as i can't take the hut with me to Act V anyway :-\
Ah well, there was a Giant Centipede repellant in there amounst other bits and bobs. I wonder how much it's worth? Off to bed now so will sell it tomorrow ;D

Plus, after the game is over, you own a nice bit of property in the countryside where you can live blissfully with Shani or Triss ever after! :)
Ahh you posted just before i edited!
I wouldn't say it was a nice property (could do with a lick of paint) but you're right, it IS in the countryside :D

What a good life Geralt could have there! Pretty wife, lots of money he got from king Foltest with which to buy Temerian Rye at the local inn, respawning monsters in the fields so he doesn't get out of practice, and VERY nice goddess out in the lake! ;D
Amen.
By now I take the hut just because I can and yes even though I know it only has a few items.
I like to think it a nice place to relax for Geralt. And yes, if he gets boring he can poker with the hermit and beat up some of the monsters around. So it is relaxation, practise and fun.

If u crown her that means u save her, if u can just have a look at what she does after u crown her u can see that she goes to the exact place her sister stood when she went to Heaven and does the exact thing...so u save her but u are not rewarded for it....thats life, good deeds are not always rewarded ;D

For those of you having trouble with the Wreath of Immortelles; where Celina just took it and remained in the fields and nothing happened, you should try convicting Adam by telling Julian that he killed Celina and not cover up for him ;) that worked for me in the second playthrough and Celina disappeared into the ground with a flash of light just like Alina

It doesn't matter if u tell him or not....if u crown her either way she disappearee into the ground with a flash of light as Alina did....it's the same thing.....
