I play video games to be happy, I care very little if the ending I choose is "cliche" or not. However that is the point of a 'dynamic' story that changes based upon your choices... so that it reflects an 'individual player'. Everyone has a 'job' or a 'career' I fail to see why a "Witcher" is removed from any part of life or even who enforces this 'rule' of how a Witcher can't have a family. I guess someone needs to tell service men and women that they can't have families either.
I am grateful that the save games get imported... I have been contemplating actually finishing The Witcher. I got near the end but lost interest as the choice I wanted to choose wasn't an option... might finish it this time.
You never meet Revan in KOTOR 2. The only mention of him is at the end. For me the end was Bastilla mentioning to Carth that Revan went into the outer rim.

Except servicemen don't give up their gonads... Witchers are sterile; it's emphasized repeatedly. (Sorceresses are too.) In a time and place where the ability to father children is a badge of manhood, the hallmark of a family is numerous and healthy children, and well-organized adoption services don't exist, this is not just a minor inconvenience.
In the books, Geralt tried to settle down with Yennefer and Ciri. Short answer: Destiny interfered.
In the game, Geralt is sorely tempted to settle down with Triss or Shani (and Alvin, until he time-travels away). It's not any rule that keeps him from doing this; it's his own self-doubting unwillingness to become something other than what he is, and his fear that he would be inflicting his life as an itinerant hunter of monsters on a partner whom he loves enough to believe that she deserves better.

i ended the game discovering that Triss is the love of my life, i though that would have some kind epilogue telling how things went, but i understand the why not, one because of the assassin, the other is because TW2 starts right after TW1, so it is good because instead of having an ending telling me how things go down i can choose for myself.
