So for anyone who has read or watched the conference, what are your thoughts so far?

I was somehow underwhelmed. Especially Call of Duty didn't look anything like "next gen", but then again I had no real interest in the series since the first Modern Warfare. At least the new game by Remedy looked interesting.

I'm glad I switched to PC gaming. It can do everything the Xbox One can, but better.

The only next-gen console I might consider buying it the WiiU, and only for the 1st party Nintendo games such as The Legend of Zelda.

Seriously, console gaming is becoming less and less attractive with every new generation. I honestly see absolutely no reason to buy an Xbox or PS4. Like I said, my PC can do everything those two consoles can, but better.

The only reason why I MIGHT consider buying a new console is for the exclusive games. I think Microsoft should have realized this and showed some exclusives during the presentation to persuade the GAMERS to buy their GAMING system. They didn't though, and that's why their conference failed so hard. I don't give a crap about TV, sports or the next Call of Duty (which is not going to be an exclusive anyway, so that certainly isn't a system seller).

I think you are mistaken here, Games like FIFA, MADDEN, NHL, etc are top sellers in USA and Europe, selling in millions. A lot of people will be hungry to get their hands on them, mostly adults. And not sure why they would go back on their words, if Infinity Ward says it is Xbox exclusive, it is. Strange idea, since it will hurt their sales since it won't be on all consoles, but the xbox will florish, since everyone basically wants COD (not really, but many people since the COD series are most sold on Xbox). And along with Halo 5 coming along a year or two, Xbox One will surely have strong sales.

I switched to PC, and I am happy I did, and while the press conference was kinda disappointing, it did have premise and graphic wise looked impressive (I thought there would be little to no change).

very much useless stuff shown at the conference. If this console hasn't anything more to offer, it will fail.

Except it isn't. These days "exclusive" really doesn't mean exclusive anymore. It means it will be released on the Xbox first, and 1 or 2 months later on the PS4 and PC.

Really, Infinity Ward is not stupid. They're not going to limit their next CoD game to one console only.

Microsoft's shares slightly dropped by about 0,5% after the conference while Sony's got a 9% boost.
That about sums the whole thing up.

I'm at the CoD part. This is the reason why CdP is not showing off the Witcher.

Not really. Such things tend to fluctuate on rumors, and unreasonable expectations. I wouldn't take such a wide swing on Sony shares as a sign that Sony will win this console battle. As far as I know MS never lost. I personally do not see that ps4 is better then xbox one in any way. People who strongly prefer PC (majority on this forum) would stick with PC and bash both consoles. A lot of console gamers would probably go with what they know better, and xboxers would stay with the xbox, ps-people - with ps4.

No backwards compatibility, a fee to play used games, "zomg 8 gigs of ram guys" and a the kinect smushed in as well to pad the price. Get ready to embrace a fair few new PC gamers.

Is it a surprise that a forum of PC gamers/DRM-free enthusiasts is not thrilled by Xbox one. About as surprising as the sun rising everyday.

I wouldn't mind getting an Xbox One if buying games for it would get as easy and cheap as is it is on PC. If one has disposable income, there's so much to do with that, there's no way to rationalize blowing it on games.

Edit: after reading all the rumored news about Xbone and it's creepy kinect features, I wouldn't want to have one even if MS paid people to get it.

I am buying xbox one, and a bit later ps4. "No backward compatibility" is such an old news, neither xbox 360 nor ps3 had them, and look, it was fine. A fee for used games? Why PC people bash consoles for this feature, when most of you guys buy your games on steam and GOG, where you can't resell any of you digital content at all??? It seems xbox one games are "digital version plus a backup copy on a disk". Not bad by my lights. Kinect in a package is a sign of the times, nothing wrong with it, just one more device to use if you want to.
