Unplayable sounds nasty. Do you know what's the reason and how to solve it? Maybe you can get help in our tech section.
I can see what you see not, Visions milky then eyes rot.
When you turn they will be gone, whispering their hidden song.
Then you see what cannot be, shadows move where light should be.
Out of darkness, out of mind – cast down into the Halls of the Blind…

The game is good and the sequal is too, but I want to know would people be voting for how great this game is if it did not have sex scenes in it? I am just curious because that is honestly not the reason I bought the games, but everyone I have talked to at my job and school said they got it for that reason. That is kind of silly in my opinion, but I want to know if that was the main selling point for people.

I can't speak for all of the millions of people who've bought either TW1 or TW2, but what people around here say -- and say consistently -- is that they love the deep story; the realistic, gritty world; the interesting characters; the shades-of-grey morality; and the choices and consequences. Sex is only a small part of what makes this a mature game, but the media loves to hype anything sexual, so sex gets mentioned a lot.
The sex scenes are very, very brief, compared to how long the game is, so if people were looking for sexual movies, they'd find a much bigger bang for their buck elsewhere.
Want to be IN a computer game? I'm making one, and I want a picture of you! See here for details.
I've made three new adventures for TW1; you can get them at corylea.com/.
I've also made a bunch of mods that fix bugs, kill annoyances or tweak gameplay; you can get those at the Witcher Nexus.

I agree.
Sex is not certainly the first reason why I love this game, although you can appreciate it just like you do when wtahcing a movie or a tv show (any movie actually). Probably it's because I'm a woman or probably becoz I'm not a kid any more, but honestly I don't find anything interesting in pixel boobs or penis, or vagina or else.
Things why I love both games are already been summarized by Corylea: the involving, dark and gritty story; the moral choices, interesting characters, the important subjects the story proposes to you and more.
Yes, you're right, Gray Ghost1, if someone loves this game just becoz of sex, it's truly a silly consideration.

I like it, the story and characters are amazing, even more so since I've read all the books.
Graphics are some of the best I've seen, the combat is decent, voice acting and cutscenes are great. Your decisions actually matter while the outcome of some is impossible to predict. I love how the game doesn't pander to as wide an audience as possible, the kiddies can stick with dragon age 2
Stuff i don't like:
the terrible console interface: this is my biggest complaint, I know the game must be ported to the consoles but why not make a custom interface for the PC since it is your starting platform?
The doors/climbing animations: I think these were implemented for technical reasons, but that doesn't make them any less annoying
targeting enemies.
Crafting: There are a few useful items to be crafted, but that doesn't make up for the TONS of useless crap you have to manage (store/keep track of/sell) it wouldn't be so bad if there was no weight limit. The schematics are a good idea but you have to use them way too much.
Despite these annoyances I will be playing it again and again until I get all the content, its a great experience.

I'm a latecomer to TW 1 & 2. They're the best RPGs I've yet to play, far better than Elder Scrolls, Assassin's Creed, Half Life, etc., etc.
The biggest positive factors are the intricately-developed storyline and the gamer's-choice possibilities therein, the believable ambiance of medieval Europe combined with fantasy/sorcery, and the production/graphic qualities.
Off the top of my head:
-The sexual content is so soft-core as to be almost neutral...should be no big deal for anyone. I like the romantic tension between Geralt and Triss, and the ability to choose or reject dalliances for Geralt and the possible consequences makes for some good fun. The "girlie cards" Geralt gets for scoring in TW1 aren't there in TW2...I miss them.
-Combat realism and ease of control in TW2 are a vast improvement over TW1, in which I got the impression that Geralt was hacking away at air a good part of the time.
-Interface screens in TW2 are largely a step backward. Those in TW1 were fine...why mess up a good thing for the sake of change? However, I've seen this happen in many game sequels.
-In both games, I get a laugh out of Geralt's ability to walk into any building or situation and take loot without being noticed by NPCs. This is really over the top and should be modified in the next game: have some situations in which he can freely loot and others where it must be done stealthily, with consequences such as a fine, jail time, or flogging for getting caught.

I love the witcher 1 it was a great game and the witcher 2 is also good but gets very anoying at times. Its clear that The Witcher 2 Had consoles in mind when it was done wich is sad and as some 1 said the animations when geralt is usesing ladders or other stuff like that is very anoying and makes me very dizzy and almost seasick, and animated memories of geralt is 1 thing i dont like,I would rather have odinary cinematics instead.
But overal its an ok game and the graphics is very very good.

I picked up The Witcher Enahanced Edition in the discount section of a games shop when I was bored one day. I don't play games often and when I do, I like a good immersive story (as opposed to the mindless shooting the shit out of everything). I got more than I expected. This was a finely polished work of art. I understand it was based on real art and fiction - it shows. So many game companies nowadays are obsessed with profit and deadlines and the users often become unwitting beta testers and guineapigs and it is only tolerated because like junkies they are hooked on the 'franchise' (Gods I hate that word). Anyway, the characters, the cut-scenes, the art-snippets - they're all special. They even got the end-game reward right (and no-one has achieved that since the 1980s). That's one cool fight scene and great music
I downloaded The Witcher 2 on steam recently. I had seen some mixed reviews but decided it was worth it. I was a bit worried for a second especially with this apparent bug in the launcher that makes it require a connection to the server just to play the game (and I've been shooting my mouth off in the tech support section about that) but it;s at least playable. The different controls took some getting used to and I had to take the graphics settings down a notch (and this is £2k worth of top end hardware I built myself). At the point of the intro / tournament I thought I had gotten another half-arsed sequel (so common) but after the prologue and a day or 2 in floatsam I'm really enjoying it
The silly animations in the 'memory sequences' smack of corner-cutting though. Even a single art shot like in W1 would have been better (much more feeling in that).

Delusions of grandeur? I'm better than that!

Just wanted to give my thoughts on the witcher 2
First I really loved the game but I'am not as impressed as i was with the first game. Also you changed a lot to the worse:
The good
-New fighting System
-graphics
the bad:
-TOO short it lasted 23 hours for me (and i have done everything i could find was also lvl 35)
-not enough dialogues with characters Geralt really knows
-Night day cycles were not used as amazing as in the first game (big atmosphere killer for me)*
-Hoped for more monsters that would have real weaknesses **.
-qtes while not a too bad idea, the implementation is bad. Fist fights for example are too easy.
-the third act was short, also the end sequenz was unsatisfying (let's see what EE brings)
-while it's cool to be able to give Geralt new clothes it's a little strange how many people could make him Witcher steel Blades or silver swords...
*:Not really more/new dangers @ night or monsters that would only show up @ night
**: A lot could have been done some examples:
-ghosts can only harmed with the right oil on your sword
-a monster thats even too fast for geralt (could only be hit with using a potion that made geralt faster)
-A Monster that's big and slow and can't be harmed on the front (ok that one is in ...the shield warrior ^^)

Actually there was one BIG announcement with lots of terrific Goodies as Easter gifts... seems that CDPR never take a break
