Well, I haven't played the previous games, so I couldn't find a fault in the trailer. But I am waiting for the Thief collection to go on sale, so maybe I'll have reasons to complain as well />

And speaking of Dishonored, it's really not a stealth-action game considering its subpar stealth mechanics, and so far I've been treating it like an action-adventure game. Hopefully this game is nothing like Dishonored in that aspect.

Did they really change the actor or is the VA in trailer just a temporary one (like VAs in that early TW2 promo)?

Garrett looks so much better in motion, his face looks normal. Neat.

I'm not getting Dishonored vibes from this, rather it's a lot like Thief 3. Glad they kept the aviary level.

Still, it's the gameplay and stealth mechanics that will decide if this one's worth it or not.

Thanks for this nice find. Now I can't wait to get my hands on this. Funny thing when I saw a guard blocking Garrets way I though here goes Corvo to shot or slice his throat. I would really want to see if Garret is in touch with his murderous side

Doesn't sound like Garret, that guard looks fucking stupidly over designed, Garret shouldn't be running, doesn't look dark enough for a medieval/renaissance city, bow similarly over designed, Garret doesn't make bombastic speeches or rely on pretense for he's a simple bloke trying to pay the rent, don't like the thief suit as it's too tight restricting movement and has got a fucking corset. Gimp Garret.

I don't know, it doesn't look good. Initial impressions were disappointing to say the least. Dishonored ripped off Thief and now the latest Thief is ripping off Dishonored :S This weird video game inbred that just plainly calls itself Thief looks and sounds like a real game but then when you play the game the only thing you can control is the direction Garret farts in...

So far, it's not looking good at all. If this is the direction they're going with, they'll be going alone. Still, I'll keep an open mind but my instinct so far is telling me to bail on this shit. I get the distinct impression that they're not at all familiar with what made the Thief games great and don't have any intention of following in its footsteps but rather dumb it down for the lowest common denominator. I don't know. We'll see.

I have several words, most of which have four letters in them.
That has to be the dumbest argument since "We made Sim City Multiuser to enhance the player experience". Seriously? There's a compelling reason why the stuntman should be the VA? Does that apply to movies too?

Figured as much. But hey, *ducks behind cover* its a reboot. Go for it new team. But that's just me flapping my pie hole. I'm still a Thief virgin. But that will change for I small sale down the road in a few months time. I just hope it doesn't turn into a Dante hair fiasco.

I'm still ambivalent. It's hard not to think they've aped Dishonored. Nearly everything about it reeks of poor man's Dishonored.

It's not really fair to Dishonored to say that because that game did a lot of things right, and brought its own creativity. But Dishonored is not a good stealth game.

There's so much potential here for Thief 4 to really blow us away with refining and redefining the stealth genre. Also, as much as I like FPS games, I don't think it would be appropriate to have those elements in this series; the only focus here should be stealth.

And people are right: the aesthetics of the original games' environment were important to the stealth game atmosphere of Thief, so I hope they use those aesthetics for inspiration.

But I don't care about the character's voice or face, lol.
