Hello everyone,

I am playing Witcher 2 for the first time and following Iorveth's Path. Currently in the middle of act2.

I noticed some strange thing and I am not sure whether it's a bug or "a feature".

Basically I sometimes randomly stop getting any experience points from either quests or monsters. This happened all the way from act1. Right now I am level 19 and I don't get any exp from Harpies. There were other instances we finishing quests didn't net any exp. Later for some reason the exp gain will turn on again. This doesn't only happen after leveling up, but also in betweel levels..

Can anyone please explain if this is working as intended or what is going on? Btw, reloading an older save does not change anything..

I know that when you kill so many of any one kind of monster then XP drops to nil as sort of an anti grinding measure . Haven`t noticed the quest completion XP though . I do know that if there are different ways to complete a quest then the XP will vary on how you complete it .

Some quests do not have any XP for completion. This is especially noticeable on Roche's path.

I don't know whether there's a reliable table of XP for all quests. It would be handy. But it may take REDKit to extract the information.

It doesn't matter how many you have killed. It depends on your level.
each time that Geralt levels up, the amount of XP points he gains from killing monsters will decrease. the decrement will continue until the given XP points vanish completely.

I don't know if there's a table, but this site has listed the XP points you get for each quest.

But yes, there's a possibility of seeing spoilers.

XP gaining in TW2 is a little bit wacky, you get low or no rewards for killing monsters or doing sidequests, then these huge XP dumps from completing mainquests that can sometimes level Geralt up 2 or even 3 times at once...

Makes one wonder if lowering the XP rewards for main quests but raising the payoff for enemies and sidequests could've made for a more gradual leveling curve...
