Hey guys

So two days ago I decided I would try the Witcher 2 again, so I downloaded my game on steam only to find out that the steam version isn't exactly stable and my game refused to work, I then downloaded my free Gog version of the game only to find this too is having problems.

Everytime I click on "launch game" it's comes up with Changelist: 1 Has Stopped Working" and loads up the launcher again, at first I thought it was because I skipped the file check it does before you install the game so uninstalled the game and then reinstalled it, but it still comes up with the same message "Changelist: 1 Has Stopped Working". Any idea what I should do?

When I had this issue I ran the Registry Check and that fixed the problem.

I'm not sure if I am using that right but nothing happens for me, I select where my Witcher 2 folder is, click next and nothing happens it just says that "the application has finished checking your windows registry".

Try running the game from steam folder, worked for me, not launcher but the witcher2.exe

I don't have it on steam anymore I have the gog version, but I have also tried that with the gog version and the same message appears.

It will only do something if you have an error, just like when you run an anti-virus scan.

In that case it's got nothing to do with my registry and I can't seem to find anyone else having that error message

When I ran it, I did not point it directly to my Witcher2 file, I left it at "Program Files", try that.

Still no luck.

I uninstalled a few thing like it said on the first link you gave me but it hasn't worked. As for the hotfix I get a error message that says

"unable to execute file: C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\The Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition\Launcher.exe createProcess failed;code 2. the system cannot find the file specified

If you want to you can take screenshots of your installed programs and email them to me .
I haven`t seen that error before with the hotfix .

My computer repaired some broken files and now the game launches just fine, thanks for all the help
