PCs are already powerful than next gen consoles . It will take 5 years for notable difference .? You kidding me .? Stay on path guys , don't be too console friendly CDPR . Your all recent interviews have made a lot of your fans unhappy .

You are misreading what he said in the interview, he said there won't be a big difference between DECENT PCs and consoles and he's right about that.

It's the high end machines that will utterly demolish the consoles.

i dont understand u people, how can a console that costs 600$ or so compete with some high end pc in exes of 1700$ at least i think. consoles are just better optimised divers and all. Consoles are better or close to equel than decent pc's

Quote

Even though it's been a much slower development than it was in the previous decade, PCs have always been more powerful than consoles, so it’s not a surprise that it will happen again. The question is, then, why developers don't drop consoles altogether.”

“The biggest reason, probably, is that there is a significant audience of gamers that prefers the style of console-playing to the PC.

The 8year life cycle of the current gen consoles is what drags PC development and these so called 'next-gen' will do just the same thing.

Remember how Crytek shocked the world on 2007 by their then PC-exclusive Crysis? Graphicswise, we won't see this type of milestone with these lowest denominator around.

I think one of the reasons for this is that the nextgen was delayed due to the global economic downturn by perhaps 2 years. The manufacturers wouldn't want to release in the face of sloppy sales.

A well built upper mid-range priced PC - your typical gaming PC - was superior to the XBOX 6 months after release. The fact they won't be even as good now is no big surprise.

There are complex reasons why some XBOX games have at times seemed on par with PC games, but its more software & programming related than hardware.

Microsoft have stated many, many times they wish to destroy PC gaming, they & the other companies want proprietary control for the constant predictable revenue it would get them.

And yes we all should know it, consoles hold gaming back, period. It is a cycle and it will happen again.

He is wrong about first time ever but mostly true . PS 3 came in 2006 . Crysis came in 2007 which used Cry Engine 2 . Cry Engine 2 is still not possible on consoles . Current gen HAD very respectful specs , close to high end PCs but not ahead of them still they got extremely out dated within one year when Cry Engine 2 was out . This time they are already outdated as hell . Till this fall when they'll be out they will be even more outdated . I don't agree with CDPR saying that it will take 5 years for notable difference .

True . Not only console hardware but audience also hold core gaming back . New Tomb Raider was amazing but there was so much hand holding in it , only bad thing in the game just like any other game which is on consoles .

Honestly Im not impressed with the visuals. When The Witcher 2 came out the graphics were something completely out of this world and the forest absolutely looked beautiful. Oh the otherhand, when I look at these current pics, Im left with dumbfound look because it was not something I expected. I dont know if they're building this game ground up from consoles but it looks significantly worse than TW2. The arctic setting looks very bland along with the open field.

As many articles have stated for now they are just showing the DX9 versions, which is not how the end state will look with the new renderer using DX11 exclusively.

I've hoped this element would change as the console based generation ages, thing is it hasn't yet. Surely theres some demographic information out there to say even console gamers want a change?
