Hi guys.

I need your help prior proceeding to the purchase of both witcher 1 and witcher 2 collectors edition.

I allready have the paltinum edition of witcher 1 and since this is by far my best game ever i want to buy the collectors edition and i have 2 issues:

Question 1

I have found a used version of Witcher 1 Collectors edition from Germany (i stay in Europe) where the seller states that the only thing is missing is thus of a demo cd from a band called Nightwish..which i dont really care for the demo band. The seller he ensured me that all the rest items are in a good condition and the box includes:

a) Game DVD
B) Making of DVD
c) Map
d) Sound
e) Art Book

My question is, is there anything else in the collectors edition that IT SHOULD BE THERE appart from the demo band Nightwish cd?.

**********************************

Question 2

i found some Witcher 2 collectors editions on Amazon but i got confused by one seller who states that

"its a brand new sealed , no imported, no bootleg version"

My question is what does he means that there is no import version? what is the bootleg version? Are there different versions of Collectors editon? Should i be carefull for any fake ones?

Thanks in advance

About your second question: could you provide a link plz?
As far as I know, W2 CE is sold out since a long time. Only the Dark Edition (for Xbox) and the Enhanced Edition (PC - Xbox) is available. Actually, I'm afraid that the DE is sold out either. So either the seller has one copy in the storage, or it's a reselling. But since it's said "sealed" I doubt it could be a second hand. Regarding the "no imported": I think it may refer to the language of the books, manual, guide, artbook etc being english (or German) and not any foreign language (Polish for example, Czech, Russian...). Which lead me to think that it could be one last box in its storage.

About your first question:
The Witcher 1 CE had no Nightwish CD as far as I know. German Collector's Edition should contain:

-The game
-Manual
-Map
-Soundtrack CD
-DVD Bonus content (making of)
-Artbook
-Inspired CD music

The "Inspired CD Music" contains many tracks from different artists, and Nightwish is not among them.

I'd rather you to give the link from the International Witcher Wiki, but the site is down for some reason. If you can read German, you can check this links below anyway:

Uh-uh I see.
So I think it's as I supposed, one copy from the seller storage. You could contact him for infos if you like, it's this > http://www.amazon.co...=A2NS3JDU8TBXLH

Oh that artbook! How much I've loved it!

Anyway, seems that it's true, it contains a Nightwish CD. So it's possible that it won't contain any Inspired by music CD. I didn't know that German CE had Nightwish. But you can always find the full CD on YouTube. I guess it's unnecessary since you said you already own the PE.

Exactly, i want to love that too :-D

OK, so, regarding the witcher 2, why did you choose the specific seller ? was it just a random pick?

So you think i should go fot it for the witcher 1?

Thanks

No because I search once more on Amazon for W2 CE and found one auction with the seller specified, while there's none in the link you gave me before. In my personal experience, I'd rather to have a link or a contact with the seller, you know in case of needing. This is a case for example. Unless it's sold directly from Amazon, which I'd go smoothly with, since the return policy is great.

Regarding W1: I think you could, if you don't mind of that Nightwish CD. I found this thread in the forum, with another user having a similar experience http://pl.thewitcher...ost__p__323759.
I've no doubt the box will contain anyway everything is important like: the game, the soundtrack, te guide and the artbook. Just mind if the seller as any return policy. You know, just in case.

Good luck!

I followed your link and as i understood, W1 CE is different from country to country. The guy states that he was expecting a medallion, which i loved to have and he did not expect the promo cd from that band. So partially you are right, the german version contains a promo dvd from a band BUT DOES NOT HAVE MEDALLION and the version, provably h english one contains the medalion.

Never the less i will go with the german version since i have looked everywhere and i cant find the english version with the medalion.

Regarding your second comment for W2 CE. I did not understood very well what you ment. Do you mean that when you were searching for the W2 CE you tried amazon and you found only one single auction from a specific seller right?
And the link i give you has like ... 30 different sellers but not the one you saw when you were searching for your own CE?

If this is the case, how do you explain that there are about 30 sellers that have the Collectors Edition of W2? You think there might be fake ones?

Thanks again for your time

One more question.

The seller regarding the W1 CE just replayed to me and said that the manual is in german. No worries since i allready have the PE however i do worry if the Art Book is in German.

What i want to ask is that are there many comments and text is the Art book or is it just pictures? From some videos i have seen is just pictures but in some parts there is text. Is this text contain important information? you thing this text might be in german?

The medallion was only included in Polish, Czech CE.

I've serached on Amazon.com and found this list: http://www.amazon.co...tcher+collector

I picked up the first one available, which is the only CE listed as you see.

How could I guarantee for any of them? :) You should check any single auction and then consider by yourself. I'm just giving you my advice, based on my purchasing experiences on that website. I doubt Amazon has any fake, coz the responsibility and bad fame all fall on it. Generally, Amazon sellers are much more reliable than Ebay and Amazon return policy is much more buyer-friendly than Ebay. This is the only advice I can give you.
The link you found on Amazon could be perfectly fine as far as I know. I would trust Amazon, but if in that auction there would be also a link to the seller (any seller)would be preferable for me. It's always better having someone to talk with in case you don't receive the package within the estimated time and so on.
And since I cannot answer for sure about your W2 auction questions (such as: what the seller means with "no imported"? I gave you an answer, but I can't be 100% sure it is the same the seller means) I'd recommend you to directly contact the seller. That way any doubt will be clear for sure :)/>

There's no "official" reply about reliability of an internet selling auction, unless you don't buy from CDP official authorized sellers. My experiences with Amazon had been more than fine, so with this premise, I have no reason to doubt of Amazon.

I think that it will be in German, if the box is sold in German. All the content included should be in the same language.

Regarding the artbook: I'm an artist myself so I give much more importance to the pictures than the text.
Both W1 and 2 artbooks are great, interesting and the text well captions the content, where it comes from, what the original idea of the Developer was, the reason behind they're choices, how the artists worked. And pictures are hq printed, enough large, well detailed. As far as I'm concerned, the artbook is the only worthy bonus content a fan needs, but this is my personal opinion of course. Other people may disagree and find more appealing the guide, the medallion, the card game (included only in the Polish and Czech ed.) and so on.
One reason why after buying both boxed version of W1-2, I also bought the digital version, is exaclty the presence of the artbook.

About the medallion: it should be also included in W2 CE. So don't worry if you will miss it in W1 CE. You will get one, one way or another :)

The Witcher 1 CE I bought was a German edition, but the artbook was English. There is more then just art, comments from developers.

Regarding W1 CE .. i just purchased the collectors edition for 50 euros. It is a used one in very good condition..in german but this is the only version i can find in the world at the moment. I did tried to find an english one but it seems that the english version is gone for real. So i ordered the used version which is the one i showd you on the you tube video.

Second hand version is good the same. It's not like a dress or a pair of shoes, thankfully second hand market for videogames is another story :)

About W2 CE: too bad!
Oh wait: sorry my mistake, I exchanged the Dark Edition with the Collector's. Now it's correct the medallion was not in the CE, only Geralt's head

Posted Image

I remember they gave away the medallion in one community contest in fatc, since it wasn't included in the CE.

Sorry shame on me!

EDIT: No actually it's all CDP fault. yea, shame on you, mean Dev, releasing too many different versions LOL

EDIT2: Oh look, I've found a few auctions for the medallion, but heck all at an unreasonable price! 45-50Euro...

See that`s the strange thing.

Since i just bought the W1 CE i am on to buy the W2 CE. My aunt from USA is coming next month so i am thinking to buy it from america for something like 60 euros (VERY GOOD PRICE IF YOU THINK THAT HERE IN GREECE IT COSTS 200 EUROS) BUT, when i searched on amazon.de (the german one) for the W2 CE and then i searched on amzon.com (the USA one) i get two different results.

The german amazon gives me this:
Posted Image

and the USA version gives this:

Posted Image

So the difference between those two versions is that the one from the german amazon also has a little monster and that..thing that has Geralt`s swords on.

Why there are two different versions? Why does CDP releases a different CE for the Polish, a Different CE for the XBOX , a different CE for USA , a different CE for the Mayas!!

...
Arent we all collectors .. :-S

I think the Amazon.com picture is simply wrong. The German picture shows an actual C.E. of The Witcher 2. If you look closely, your second photograph uses the old cover and box art, the one that was discarded and NOT used.

In any case, I have a US American Collectors Edition from Amazon.com and it looks exactly like the one pictured above from German Amazon. I pre-ordered it back in November 2010... *sigh* memories.

@OP

One thing to point on a secondhand copy is that the GOG backup may already have been claimed. I saw you already had TW1, so this probably doesn't matter to you. But I'm not sure if this would be important to you for TW2? Just thought I'd mention it anyway.

Second picture is the pre released preview. First pic is the actual version.
I can say watching at the videogame cover. In pic number 2, that bust of Geralt was of the beta version, pre released phase. Before they changed in the older uglier version, which is the same face on the box in pic no.1

Aside this, no matter which you will buy, you'll get exactly what they say:

-game
-manual\guide
-artbook
-soundtrack CD
-Bonus CD
-Map
-Set of dice
-Temerian Coin
-Pamphlet
-Card set
-Stickers
-Geralt's head
-papercrafts

@Wichat and 4s4sin96
OP is talking about W2 W1 CE. Not Witcher 3 CE :)/>

What do you mean?

Provably next week i will have my W1 CE and i will post some pictures of what i got and in what condition.

I just hope that the the Artbook will be in English which i doubt but will see...

As for the W2 CE i will provably order it today from amazon.com and will have to wait till next month till i have it in my hands.

BTW , despite the fact that i am a big fun of "The Witcher" i never knew that there was such high class supportive community. I was searching two years ago for the books in English and couldn't find any (i did purchased and readed Last wish and Blood of elves) and yesterday i found that all books were translated in English and disclosed by the witcher community. I am thinking of making hard printed copies of those books.

This is fantastic and trust me, i have seen other, supposed to be "Big Games" from very big companies but such community like Witcher i never was able to find.
