And it's not like HR was an amazing game, it was a good game with big problems like the unbalanced XP system and sub par level design.

I remember playing Theif 2 as the first video game I had played on PC. To me, nothing compared to it at the time.
Theif (4) will definitely be a piece of sh*t.

Conan O'Brien recently "reviewed" two Squeenix games, Hitman: Absolution and Tomb Raider. It seems like they're desperate for attention.

Conan sure is funny though. Can't wait for him to ridicule this game.
Facio, Voco, Ferre.

PC does not equal Windows. Personal computers run many different operating systems, like GNU/Linux and, why not, Windows. PC games should be available for all major platforms. Let's not be handcuffed and tied to one vendor. Utilize standard, cross-platform technologies!

Despite what you guys are saying, all I see when I google Thief 4 are good expectations of the game, even when I googled Thief 4 sucks. So either you guys are wrong or there isn't good information out there.

Not everyone has played, or has the patience to play, the predecessors of this game.

You know what, why don't you lot combine your resources and start a blog, and give coherent and cogent explanations for why gamers should dislike Thief 4, or why the direction for this game should be changed. I have a domain I would be willing to donate for this cause (though it's super cheap and easy to get your own).

Who cares if you would be the umpteenth such blog or whatever. It would be (marginally) better than complaining on the witcher forums.

I am thankful for GOG, inXile and CDPR right now.

Me too. And on that note, GOG have a sale right now: pick 5 games (out of 20) and get them 80% off. Pretty good deal. Not sure if I'm interested in 5 of the games, but a good offer nevertheless. Witcher is one of them btw, in case somebody want to pick up a 7th version or something :D

I'm hoping I can still play and enjoy this, but I'm not happy about Garrett being turned into a bishy goth. I predict they're going to have a younger voice actor with a fake Batman throaty voice. And it's in third person, too, so you're forced to look at what they've done to him.

It looks likes they utilize both views judging from the screenies.

Oh come on stop complaining before the game release. This reminds me of Capcom forums where everyone complains about how the game is going to look, be played and in the ends up them saying it actually pretty nice.

And where the hell did you get that information about stealth absence, detective mode. They were talking about inspiration not the gameplay ›››

But we're just laughing at Garret's new look and outfit. No worry, there will be time to whine at the game as soon as we'll know more.

If this is just about the MC's looks and outfit, then that's not reason enough to say the franchise has died, or to say that the current generation of games are awful etc. ::)

Everyone has an opinion, I guess.

Sure it is. Only that nothing like that has come out from my mouth. I'm still fine with the current generation. With some of them. But I'm also fine with being your lighting rod here ^^

Most of the time I don't even know who I am replying to, I just throw out a post and see if it catches anything. So nothing personal, I mean.

Quote

"I was referring specifically to a previous Garrett design we tried out internally and not Garrett from the previous games. Our early design went a LOT more gothic – with black nails etc - but we thought that this wasn’t true to the legacy of Garrett so we pulled it back a bit. Returning to something more true to the original Garrett is what I meant when I said we made him more ‘mainstream’, this wasn’t a comment about the direction of the game. "

Another skinner box designed abomination, made for the lowest common denominator who can't do anything but follow the golden moron marks and press the button when told to. Fucking insulting to anybody with a functioning brain, it's not like the Thief games were massively over complicated and needed elite skills and patience to play, they were reasonably challenging, why the fuck would anybody see the need to dumb them down even more.
I was once asked by a journalist what my thoughts were on the modern world slipping into ignorance and apathy, I told him, "I don't know and I don't fucking care!"

In an interview they said it's first person, but it switches to third in some cases (like in DX:HR where covering and climbing were in 3rd person). Except it switched so much gameplay testers got motion-sick. :|
