From press interviews , screenshots, and general info, I guess TW3 is at a good stage of developement. Remember that CDprojekt has been able to show a playable demo during a private press conference.
We could expect a video footage anytime soon, I bet it will be showed at some videogame expo during next few months...

There we'll understand at what stage the game is. From my personal point of view, for what I've seen and read, I don't see why TW3 shouldn't be ready for release Q2 2014... October/november 2014 is more than 1 year and a half away, that's a huge amount of time.

Unlikely, as they've already said 2014. It would also be extremely high-risk to make it a "launch" game for two new consoles, as they're not expected out until around then either. I hope that's a risk they DON'T take.

That's why I hope they'll manage to release it may/june 2014 (around 6 months after new gen consoles release)... But an october/november 2014 release would be very very far, and the hype around the game could get smaller... Why did CDproject launch NOW a big marketing operation (lots of interviews, cover of most important magazines, etc.) if they plan to release the game ONLY late 2014?

It doesn't make sense from the marketing point of view. In my language they say "strike while the iron's hot"...

Also, think about the info we have now: they DO have a working demo showing 90% of the features, for the press. What the hell would the devs have to work on for a Q4 2014 release? That's a lot of time, you can make an entire game from the very start in that amount of time.

They have a demo showing only one quest and even then that's not implemented fully and on Skeligge. Seems to me from what we hear that they haven't even decided where No Man's Land will be yet let alone worked on it.

So they still have a lot to do.

Not really no. Longer period of time for marketing means more hype not less. They started TW2 marketing in late 2009 and launched it in may 2011.

I can't remember if in 2009 they started a huge marketing season for TW2 like they are doing now for TW3.

I do not agree, people have short memory and a company can't economically afford 2 years of big magazines cover and full coverage.

AND

Did they in 2009 have a TW2 full working quest demo with all the features? (combat, magic, visual effects and so on)

Why worry? Posted Image anyway I'm practicing to make a strike for not abandoning my PC if TW3 is delayed too much...just in case. Do not try to move me out of here!

If you have the patience to watch the whole clip you gotta see the TW2 EE trailer with Nilfgaardian army crossing the Yaruga...

We're just discussing about which could be a plausible release date... I know many people are waiting for TW3 release to make a big PC upgrade and this information would be vital for them.

Lol? What did it cost them exactly to get that coverage? They just invited some journalists showed them the game and talked a lot about what they want to do.

That's hardly costly for them. You want to talk about huge marketing then look at Skyrim.

Shouldn't have to worry, that's what Bioware is doing with D3 last I heard.

A late 2014 release is pretty fast turnover, though I assume much of the creative team was hard at work for TW3 even before TW2 released.

If I were product management, I wouldn't want to miss 4th quarter 2014. Don't know if it's true in the rest of the world, but 40% of US game sales are November-December. I wouldn't want to be much earlier than that, either. You don't want excitement to have slid off its peak before Cyber Monday.

I agree, too many launch games would bog TW3 down as D3 will probably launch, and I have a gut feeling Fallout 4 will be released at launch. Too much competition.
