I've been listening to music at random, and I thought I wanted to listen to This Fire Burns by Killswitch Engage.

And as I was listening and paying attention to the lyrics, I thought of Alvin. And I just cried teared up.

This song suits him so perfectly:

"This Fire"

All I've ever wanted was destiny to be fulfilled,
it is in my hands, I must not fail,
I must not fail.

Even through the darkest days,
this fire burns, always.
this fire burns, always.

This is the broken ground
Misery begins to rise.
Turn away from yesterday,
tomorrow's in my eyes.

Nevermore to be held down
by the wings of history.
Nevermore to be cast aside,
this day is mine.

Even through the darkest days,
this fire burns, always.
this fire burns, always.

I will not be denied
in this final hour.
I will not be denied,
this day is mine.

The passion inside me,
is burning, is burning.
The passion inside me,
is burning, is burning.

Even through the darkest days,
this fire burns always (always).
This fire burns (fire burns) always.

Always (always).

It so perfectly captures his tragedy, his pain, his hopes, his insanity, his obsession with the antithesis of his icy nightmares: fire.

"Nevermore to be held down
by the wings of history.
Nevermore to be cast aside,
this day is mine."

I can't :'(

Such a great character, I want to hug and punch him at the same time.

CDPR make the most believably human characters out there, and place them in the most vulnerable and bewildering of circumstances, pawn and prophet, madman and messiah all rolled into one. Makes the cliche'd caricatures we accept from other companies seem all the more vapid.
I was once asked by a journalist what my thoughts were on the modern world slipping into ignorance and apathy, I told him, "I don't know and I don't fucking care!"

Hahaha I know right?

@ Bloth
Yea absolutely. Jacques is so sadistically written, it's almost genius. If only certain things were different and / pr better presented and Jacques would have been an absolute masterpiece of a character.
