Oh man, i haven't been reading cd action for ages. Need to buy that one. Still remember that issue with full version of second fallout. CD A made me CRPG fan.

Alright 2 new screenshots. Reading right now.

edit: according to article combat looks fantastic, no longer rolling etc.
edit2: they have mixed feelings about importing saves because on consoles you can't import saves

edit 3: while exploring you can solve someones problem before being asked for it

edit4: skilltree is in the shape of disc? Most skills are active like disarming etc.Clearing each disk grant you passive skill
edit 5. buffed mutagens confirmed. 3 mutagens slots, if you get skill 4 it implies that you can remove mutagens

edit 6. barber ofc confirmed

edit7. So you can't buy house in sky... witcher 3 but your horse is like house, so stuff like chest etc. They don't know yet if horse can die. Weak, fast and war (horse?) You can pimp your horse.

edit8. they really really like new combat. graphical effects in combat and animations improved + geralt react differently when facing different foes?

edit9 npc little more caricatural? and memorable, drinking with npc

edit 10. when you hit end of the map (for example with boat you sail too far) , fast travel system automatically kick in

edit 11 No obvious marks on the radar like in skyrim

edit12 batman senses confirmed

edit 13 harpy-sirens hybrid confirmed

edit 14 about special moves= its NOT vats, you are aiming at weak spot, that require something called "focus points", if it's some weak enemy like drowner you just kill him without aiming, you only lose these focus points. Monsters don't sit in one spots, populations of monsters are moving.

edit 15. so rolling is present but only in special encounters

edit 16. more characters from the books than from previous games.

The words "Kaer Morhen" were dropped... Dreamed of that for a long time, wait & see I guess :D/>/> ›››

Seriously you can roam as far to the north east of Kaedwen from Skellige? That world must be incredibly huge then.
Also won't Kaer Morhen be deserted? They lost their equipment, most of the school had died out anyway. Your witcher friend left as well. So is vesimir still there being bored as hell waiting for a visitor? Don't get me wrong I'd so love to revisit locations again. It's one of the things I love in sequels.

Thank you for the news, Sirnaq. While I'm kinda sad at the batman-esque senses, I am quite happy about the focus points. Also the skill tree sounds really odd, but i'll wait to see it until I make judgement. I also hope they make a wise desicion for the import of saves. Everything else sounds great though.

Kaer Morhen might be deserted at this point, as even Vesemir left to find the Salamandra, but one would expect that word has gotten out about the big fight in Wyzima, and the others have gone back there.

This worries me. I don't want cartoonish NPCs.

I agree.
The characters are the biggest advantage of W2. This is one of the best designed characters. I do not understand why they are moving away from this concept. Why change something that was very good?

They better import them... otherwise face the wrath of PC gaming fans. And they can create a special storytelling choices for console players where Dandelion tells the story to somebody and you choose what he's telling interactively. Or they can release console version patch for TW2 that saves endgame state to the cloud storage under a user name and TW3 will be loading one from there if available.

IMHO, console players should just suffer consequence of their choice. It's all about choices and consequences, isn't it? :harhar:

It better be able to die on modes other than easy. To make sure it won't die stupidly it should be able to run away from most monsters by itself if Geralt isn't riding it.

What!? Caricature characters? Please, don't turn it into the comic book for teens! What about mature gaming?

Good decision.

edit12 batman senses confirmed

 Did CDPR guys played Batman too much? Batman senses are just crap and most people don't want them. The thread I started shows http://en.thewitcher...nses-mechanics/ that even people who don't agree with me don't want Batman senses in vast majority. I hope the devs read this and choose more creative and interesting approach. It starts to remind me the shit that happened with Hitman series when IO Interactive ruined their recent game adding Batman senses there absolutely unjustifiably. Leave Batman senses to Batman!

edit 13 harpy-sirens hybrid confirmed

just make them spawn less than harpies in TW2, that was just ridiculous and more annoying than hard or fun

It's good it's not VATS. How good the decision is hard to tell before we see it on practice.

hmm... I'm a bit suspicious here. I like to have more characters from the books but no characters from the previous game means that devs are practically saying: "all your choices from previous games are just pointless, we don't want any imports"... and I don't like it one bit. If they didn't want imports they shouldn't have TW2 ending on a cliffhanger and ought to have it more like TW1, where the all ends were tied and the only import issue was Shani.

Some characters are slightly exaggerated. It'd be a long stretch to call them caricatures or akin to comics characters.

Me too, I dislike the Batman thingy, or in a more up to date designation, Tomb Raider 2013 thingy. Let's hope it backlashes loudly enough for CDProjekt to hear the uproar and swerve their minds.
