updated from 3.2 to the 3.3 patch and I found that I cant start my saves. it exits to the desktop when loading without error.

I reinstalled the game and left it at 3.2 and it ran and loaded the saves with out no problem.

This may have been why I found all my Insane mod saves marked as dead when I started up the game today.

Glaroug - aren't you a Steam user? I thought I saw that in one of your other posts.

If you're a Steam user, you shouldn't usually be taking updates from here, they would all come via Steam. You may need to verify your cache.

dskiller - could this also apply to your problem?

No obvious answer, as it's not Steam, and you apparently didn't miss any intermediate updates. Were you definitely on 3.2 before you first tried to update to 3.3?

If you want to try installing 3.3 again, it may be worth moving/copying all except the most recent saves somewhere else first, as there are occasional issues when there's a lot of savegames.

Other than that, I've no idea. If nobody else comes in with a solution, it may be worth reporting it on the official Support section.

Just got TW2 for steam ~2 weeks ago. I've used the retail version for my previous play throughs. First time using Steam for TW2.

I just update from 3.2 to 3.3
No problems so far.

Here I upload a savegame in hard mode at chapter III.
This savegame was made by version 3.2 and I can load it with version 3.3.

@dskiller
You may want to try this save if you want to try patch 3.3 again.
May be the version 3.3 handles some Geralt's trait different from previous versions.
May be my built doesn't have that trait and yours does.

@Glaroug
If your problem is specifically loading saves in insane mode this savegame will have no use for you.

Some additional info:
  • I have bought TW2 from GOG.
  • I'm using windows 7 - 64bits
