Hello all. Thought I'd continue on my journey to complete insane mod. Yesterday, I saved in Flotsam before going on the do the Troll quest. This morning when I opened up the game all my saves were declared dead. Has anyone heard or had this happen to them? Did Letho slit my throat during the night? Did the Gremlins get a hold of some food and take Geralt for a joy ride? Did the dastardly Steam screw things up somehow (using them to play TW2)?

I play on Laptop. When I started it up today I saw I had let the poor things battery run out and had to start with the unexpected shut-down procedure. Steam was probably open at the store page as I debated on whether or not to get DX:HR. Any wild chance that had anything to do with?

I know "getting the saves" restored is impossible. My question is: Is there any way to prevent this from happening again?

I guess I should be glad its not right after lifting the Wraith War.

Thanks in advancePosted Image

It's your fault. Why did you stop playing?

I'm kidding! :P I really don't know what happened but I hope someone does.

Well, usually problems with saves are reported by Steam users, so maybe try to install GOG version?
If you see a grammar mistake in my post, then I don't mind if you send me a notice about it via PM. I always want to improve my English grammar.

I have the GOG back up copy, but it isn't install yet. Might do that. Do you think that new patch had something to do with it?

Mode*. Mod is short for modification, ususally a term used for unofficial changes made by the community to tweak certain settings and items in a game. Insane is a mode, as in a difficulty aspect or setting.

On topic: Never heard of a similar problem mate. Sounds like a nasty glitch you've encountered. Maybe Letho really did pay you visit :(
Tearing my hair out, trying to figure out why there aren't any non-human Witchers, or at least something equivalent to a Witcher oriented warrior.

Yeah, that was an unfortunate miss-spelling Posted Image.

Its not too bad though. More combat practice and its a fun game. And I got the use a the import save I meant to use this time around for role play purposes so I'll take it as a winPosted Image

Sweet victory at last!!! Say hello too my new canon Geralt. Similar concept to first play through but after a few more runs through the game and reading the books, I feel much better about...everything everything really.
