Kind of made me think of Monster Hunter on a smaller scale.

Like someone already said on GI at least 30+ kinds of different monsters is a must ! I know its a lot of work, but u can put all monsters from witcher 1 and 2 in the third installement, they all were from books and were very cool! (Vodyanoi, basilisks, Fleder! and other vampires, wywerns, ofc drowners). And please! please consider putting a badass Manticore as a boss or sth :) !

I wish there were some elements from Monster Hunter added , been saying that on the wishlist from the beginning of TW2.
I'm that guy who won that t-shirt.

I assume this'll be like the graveyard quest "Six Feet Under" at the beginning, but expanded, be nice to play detective again, especially if it involves bloodsuckers in a city.
I was once asked by a journalist what my thoughts were on the modern world slipping into ignorance and apathy, I told him, "I don't know and I don't fucking care!"

I am also a little worried about finding the evidence for the monsters, I hope there will still be a challenge and the clues won't just be glowing shiny markers that Geralt has to click on. By making the evidence not glow and instead have to found through normal investigation will immerse players more. Any glowing HUD element or marker in game will only lower immersion and make it too easy, henceforth less satisfying to finally face a monster.

Also did I hear correctly or did they say the bestiary will automatically have all the monsters listed in it? I recommended only basic monsters being listed in the bestiary and the more rare and unique creatures need a uncommon book from someone in the town to gain its bestiary entry. Then there will suspense in encountering the less common monsters.

Doesn't Geralt follow the clues in Philippa's room in Flotsam looking for Triss? Doesn't he follow them in the research of Saskia's poisoning?

Aren't you perhaps a little bit distrustful about how CDPR imagine the game they like to play? (as TW?)

That is true, hopefully than can maintain that depth that was present in those two quest chains with perhaps dozens of monster quests.

And in my opinion, TW2 offered too little information on what monsters you were about to face, because you mostly ran into them randomly. ›››

That's the challenge, the point of "being in the wild". I actually liked that aspect, where you'd just encounter a bunch of draugirs out of nowhere.

You shouldn't also forget the postmortem process in Sacubus quest, "Little Sisters" where you find the true victim, information collection in "the Royal Blood" quest, and "From the Bygone Era" which extends from chapter 2 to 3. There also quests called "The Spellbreaker" and "Gargoyle Contract" but I'm not sure they count. My point is there are more investigation tasks that don't have any artificial markers.

Love the idea of collecting hints and clues to get a better chance! The "Focus Mode" sounds intriguing so far, too.
One thing I would love to see is Traps playing a bigger role. I loved collecting the materials necessary for the Kayran-Trap and was a little disappointed that it was "just" a replacement for the Yrden-Sign. Would have loved it if it made more of a difference in the fight to put in the time and money to create the trap. E.g. rotten-meat lures containing a bomb to damage necrophages heavily or something heavily specialized on one kind of enemy like that=D
The idea of specially crafting a trap for a monster based on (maybe at times slightly misleading or ambivalent?) clues would be awesome! Like having certain information that the monster has claws, only attacks in the dark and leaves the dead in the open we could either deduce its a werewolf or a necrophage (they like to let their food "ripen") and based on that, we would use for example search for and find its lair and use a silverchain to catch the beast to find out it's identity OR we decide to use a rotten-meat lure containing a bomb to draw it out and finish it off. And of course if we dont have enough clues we (can) come to the wrong decision (kinda like in TW2 where in Vergen you could think the succubus is the culprit and kill her) which would lead to wrong preparation (and death) =D
Well, im sure CDPRED are much more innovative and creative than me, but I hope you got an idea =D

Having just watched 52 and a half again, you know what else would rock? Geralt haggling over the price =D Thats something that is part of being a witcher I guess, so it would be awesome if they could implement that. Also very book-canon, Geralt does so at at least 2 occasions. Furthermore, if a few more quests could be started like the trollquest in flotsam by talking to people instead of "just" taking some paper, that would be awesome, too =D

This is amazing! The Succubus was my favourite side-quest in Witcher 2. I love the "Fantasy L.A. Noire feel" of the hunt it gave. Thrilled to see this as a major mechanic!

I am curious about the methods of acquiring knowledge. Talking to NPCs and books as well as killing is something we already have in Witcher 2, but I think, if day/night cycles are introduced, it would be a ton cooler to observe where the monster is during times of day to successfully spy on it and examine it's trails to then gain the knowledge needed.

In Witcher 2, for instance, I found it pretty interesting to see Wraiths come out during the night and attack people at the outposts. Even thought the fight mechanics could be better, I feel, with a bit more focus of finesse (a.k.a. KoA: Reckoning), watching fights from the distance was interesting nonetheless.

This could be explored much much further in my opinion. Especially if stealth is also properly implemented. I would love to, for instance, spy on a monster and find out where it sleeps. Then I could use cat potion to observe it's heartbeat to determine when the sleep state is the deepest, so then I could strike during that time to deal some huge damage or just insta-kill it if it's a weaker type of monster.

Will there be swimming in Witcher 3? If so then experienced Witchers know that drowners tend to sleep on the bottom of rivers and lakes during the day. That could very well be exploited.

There are lots of possibilities there I think.

Really nice that they're adding another layer to monster hunting, and that it's gonna have a larger focus than it did in 2. I however hope these monster investigation quests will be mixed together with more "regular" monster hunting - f.ex. a contract to kill some nekkers/drowners - the types of enemies that might not start a huge mystery.

The Video says that the most powerful weapons and armor will be crafted from materials gained through "Monter Hunting" but please do not force us to farm these components...

It will be a massive game, that will need to be played at least 3 times to get the most of it so this alone counts for 200 - 300 hours or so... and of course I will have to have the best items each time (I always do!)... I beg you... do not make me kill 500 harpies just go get their feathers for the ultimate armor, it's such a waste of time!

Just let it be one tough monster that I need to learn about and try a couple of times until I learn correct tactics, but not farming... that's good for a MMO, not a true RPG...
