Guys, I've found the books are quite expensive, so, is it really necessary to read The Last Wish and The Sword of Destiny? Or can I skip them and go right into the novels? ›››

I would strongly recommend reading short stories first, there is a lot of back-story in them and introduction of most important characters.

¡Qué bárbaros, qué caro! En España valen, nuevos, como 18 Euros, o sea como US$24. Comparen eso con los $7.99 que vale la edición con cubierta de papel en Estados Unidos.

Se necesita alguien que los importe en América con buenos precios, o que Bibliópolis o Alamut pongan a la venta versiones digitales. Esto último sería lo mejor. ¿Y si iniciamos una solicitud pública con colecta de firmas?

I started reading the only dutch translated book of The Witcher Saga. I held the English copy as a reference to see the differences. Sadly I noticed quite a bit. Some phrases have been altered to make it more fitting, words left out, difference in time. Etc. For example, how long has the Striga roamed about? Six or Seven years? Dutch version says six. English version says 7. What does the polish version say? I'm just thinking that I might want to continue reading in English if the Dutch version has more inconsistencies or errors. Or maybe it's the English version. The book says "translated from Polish". For this translation the translator received a workgrant from the Literacy Funds. Well I just want to know which version is closer to the original books.

No creo que se deba a la importación tanto, en Argentina practicamente todo es muy caro comparado con EEUU, no es novedad.

Es más, 120 es relativamente barato.

En España muchos libros valen bastante más que en países anglosajones. La calidad del papel en los tapa blanda es mejor que en USA, pero aún así duele. La Dama del Lago tapa dura cuesta sobre 36 euros. Cada libro de La Rueda del Tiempo anda por el mismo precio. Importar el último en inglés me salió por la mitad.

I am sort of crossreading the English and Dutch version. I can't help but say the english version is less confusing to read and perhaps closer to the original polish books.

Just commenting how books in Spanish are a rip-off.

Este foro, me parece, está integrado por individuos a quienes les interesa este tema en particular. ¿Y si lo conversamos con una cerveza virtual en el Oso Peludo?

This forum, in my opinion, attracts people interested in discussing this particular topic (taxing cultural manifestations). How about we talk it over a virtual beer at the (Spanish) Hairy Bear?
