Hi! I have The Witcher 2 on Steam, I really enjoyed my first playthrough, I wanted to try a second playthrough, but one question came to my mind: I know Witcher 3 will include the usual option to "import your savegame (decisions)" from Witcher 2, but my first playthrough is really the "save" I want to use when I play Witcher 3, that's why I want to know: If I start again and finish the game again, will The Witcher 3 let me choose which save I want to use? I suppose this question is easier to answer for people that played multiple playthroughs of The Witcher 1 and then imported their saves onto The Witcher 2...

Relabel your current gamesaves folder as something else, that way you will have both the saves from your first and second play throughs. Just remember to make a new gamesaves folder. You can then use any save to start W3.

Although we don't know anything about the save import mechanics of TW3 yet, I think all of us are expecting it to be the same. If you have more than one eligible save, TW3 should allow you to select the save you want to import.

Just in case, make an archive of your saves, so you can restore them when it comes time to play TW3. I have a separate archive for each of the paths I've followed through TW2.

I just keep about 4 different save files, 2 for roche and 2 for Iorveth with different major decisions

But I think the witcher 3 will be a self contained story and we may see the consequences but don't expect cameos of EVERYONE that you had helped.

I just hope that when you import save your decisions will appear on some list.
I'm not asking for everything just big decisions to be shown. Unless if i missed something in journal i couldn't know if my Geralt has sided with Order, Scoia'Tael or remained neutral until we got in chapter 2 by asking Iorveth about Yeavinn or finding soldier of the Order in Henselt's camp. I know Shani appeared though.

I just wanna see that my bro Iorveth is all right in TW3!

Spoilers!
I had that ending where you found him hurt and unconscious guarded by some guards, I quickly killed them and told Triss to take care of him!

I expect Roche and Iorveth to have a lot more bigger role then just cameo same for Letho if you spared him.
(please don't quote "you won't see me again)

Lol, yeah he's going to be in W3, it's been confirmed. I think the same for Roche.

I don't have a problem with the game not advertising your choices. It's not meant to be a catalog of what you did; it's a world that reacts to the consequences of what you did, didn't do, or were thought to have done. It includes people who may be mistaken about what you have done.

If you have finished the game, it will make one last autosave. You can't save manually after encounting Letho anymore, so you have probably to use that autosave for import, so don't lose that one under no circumstances.

The best thing will be, as cmdr_flashheart said, to move your savegame folder to a secure place and label it with important decisions (Iorveth/Roche etc.), because The Witcher has no profiles, so your endgame saves will have all the same names.
