Hi,
recently it came to my attention that witcher 2 im playing atm is not using my nvidia geforce 540m card, instead its using integrated intel card. (checked it using nvidia gpu activity)

I have changed settings in nvidia control panel multiple times with no result, i "run the game with graphics processor", i even tried disabling integrated gpu through device manager (couldn't do it any other way) with no result as it turns out that one card needs the other to work.

My laptop asus n73sv has
Windows 7 home premium 64 bit
nvidia geforce 540m (drivers up to 310.70)
could anyone pls help me

Did you try different drivers (also older ones)?

When you go into the nVidia panel and make 3D settings for the application (where you have the "use high-performance nVidia processor" choice), what executable are you selecting? The executable must be witcher2.exe; selecting the launcher instead is a well-known problem.

This has been effective ever since nVidia's driver version 270. If it does not cause your system to use the nVidia card, then there is something incorrect in the way you have set it up.

And you are right in observing that you cannot disable the integrated GPU. In this architecture, it acts as a pass-through for the output from the nVidia GPU, so it can't just be turned off.

Im sure im using witcher.exe, checked it many times, and also i tried running it with nvidia processor directly from the folder.
Regarding the drivers, i had originally, i think, 270.something, then i upgraded it to 310.70 and then to 310.90.

Now im trying to experiment with the settings in the "screen resolution". however on my screen nr 1, mobile pc display, when im changing it to vga it runs only if i had another screeen, which i dont, resulting in blank screeen.
I know that windows its not using my nvidia card for this option as now my resolution is 1600x900, and when i set up vga on my "other screen", i had an option to go as high as 1920x1200

I think it may be possible to set up vga display on screen nr 1, however i had no success on that part. If somebody could suggest how to set it up (or if its possible) i could either succeed in forcing withcer to use it, or at least rule out that option without goig back and forth like a madman

Should i post screenshots of my setup? maybe there is really sth i set up wrong, though i doubt it

im wondering if anyone could post their set up files for the witcher, its an absolute shot in the dark but maybe i messed sth up in mine or something. And hopefully if i use corect settings my pc will be finally be able to use correct gpu.

p.s. Also i started wondering whether it is possible to fix wrong gpu problem in nvidia inspector, if it is, does anyone have any ideas?

Alright, great new, in act of desperation i downgraded withcer ee to standard 2 and it worked !!!! Witxcher is finally using right gpu
ok now i have another issue, my saves from ee version dont work, is there anyway to fix that?
