Hey!

I have a problem here. I was playing the game, no problems. And then suddenly it crashed near the end of chapter 1. Now whenever I open the launcher it says "The Witcher 2 Launcher application has stopped working".

Sorry if this has been posted before but I didn't find anything.

My friend said that on his Steam version of Witcher 2 he just got an update. So I'm guessing that's the reason? Are we to expect an update? Since launching wither2.exe from bin folder seems to be working.

same here, almost every 30min the game crashes and now it won't start the launcher!

nothing works, also did not recive any update from steam...


after posting this i startet it again and it works, let's have a look for how long...

hi guys,

i've run into the same problem today (win7, the game installed some days ago from the steam and i started to play it yesterday)

i hope i found the answer our problem in this topic: My link
- rename the redist folder
- verify integrity of the game cache

...and the game is working properly />

That's all great to steam users but I'm using a retail version. I'm afraid that won't help me.

did you try to start the config exe without launcher and change something?
don't know. but i did this and it still works

Well it magically started to work again.
