This thread is about the characters that the main character plays AGAINST: villains or people otherwise opposed to the main character. Geralt of Rivia can't be on this list, because he isn't an antagonist.

It wasn't just his voice, it was the theme song, visual design and general presentation with him in his office.

A perfect example of presentation hiding the fact that a character isn't worth shit if there ever was one.

OT: My biggest gripe with Saren is that at no point does his motivation of trying to appeal to the Reapers sound even remotely like a good idea. The whole schtick of wiping out past civilizations, the sadistic huskification process and Sovereign's(and by extension the reapers as a whole)general contempt for organics as lesser beings don't sell it.

Still, him and Vasir win by default as ME's best antagonists given how god awful the rest were.

Illusive Man sucked, what a cliche cardboard character. Saren was the real deal. Badass, delusional, sincere. That's a great villain.

I don't remember his name, but what about the guy in Bioshock? He was pretty bad.

I love antagonists that are mysterious and where we don't know what is going on until the end, so I'll always prefer bad guys like that and BG1's, over where we know roughly who the douche is from the get go (like BG2 for example). It makes the game experience much better. It's just like writing books. If you reveal who the murder is in the first chapter, the rest will have to be ridiculously good to keep interest.

Liquid Snake , Vaas of farcry 3 , Harbinger , Saren , The Illusive man , Handsome jack , Letho and Mensgk of Starcraft are one of the best antagonists . Yes Empror Emhyr will make it's way to the list when The Witcher 3 will come out . 4 days left for announcement .

With "Harbinger", you don't mean the Reaper from ME3, right? Because his antagonist's role in ME2 isn't that great, and in ME3 it doesn't have one. Harbinger never talked in ME3. The Reaper you fought on Rannoch (which I'd like to not remember. That fight was.....horrifying :S) had a bigger role than Harbinger.

Read it, great analysis. I'd have never guessed that BO2 would have such an interesting and well-developed character.
