Did you remember to unzip the mods before installing them?

Post a screenshot of your mod installation, so we can see what you have and where you have it.
Want to be IN a computer game? I'm making one, and I want a picture of you! See here for details.

I've made three new adventures for TW1; you can get them at corylea.com/.

I've also made a bunch of mods that fix bugs, kill annoyances or tweak gameplay; you can get those at the Witcher Nexus.

There aren't very many mods that go inside the "global" folder. Can you also give some information about what mods you're installing?

Yes, I unzipped them. I installed Weight Zero, Pricing Mod, Junk Dismantling, 100% Loot Tables, and All Items Added to Inkeepers. Screenie of Install.

Aha, you installed the game under Program Files (x86) and then tried to copy mod files into a subfolder of Program Files (x86).

In UAC-protected versions of Windows [Vista, 7, 8], this creates nothing but trouble, because Windows uses file system virtualization to prevent anything but a trusted installer program from writing to those folders. It fakes you out into thinking you wrote the files there, when they are actually written to a virtual folder in your account. The game, however, is also fooled by this and does not find the files at their virtual location.

There's an excellent writeup of alternatives for dealing with this without reinstalling the game, at http://www.twcenter....ad.php?t=397636

But for my money, the easy way is to uninstall the game (you do not have to delete saves to do this) and reinstall to an unprotected folder. Change the install folder when you install (there's an option for this) to something like C:\Games\The Witcher 2, and this won't be a problem anymore.

Changed the permissions as that link explained. Move my mods to another folder then copied my mods back and the problem still persists. There is no witcher 2 folder in C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files.

I guess reinstalling to another location is the way to go. Although, I find it hard to believe that everyone using TW2 mods has to jump through so many hoops to use them. There has to be an easier way.

It's nothing to do with where you installed the game, or with UAC or with the OS you're using.
It's a much simpler explanation. The path is wrong, period.

You've installed into CookedPC\globals\items. The path should be CookedPC\items. The mods should NOT be in the globals subfolder.

(Correction: 100% loot tables goes into globals. None of the others do.)

Did this and it looks like things are working now. Have not been able to test everything because of where I am in the story right now.
