This is perhaps an unusual problem, but I purchased the Witcher 2 as the pre-order from Gamestop when it was first released. They included a sheet with a code on it to unlock the "Mysterious Merchant". Because my pile of shame is rather large, I've only just gotten around to starting the game, but after installing/patching, the option to enter my pre-order code is missing and I can't set it up. Is there some way to install this content or do I have to uninstall and reinstall without the patches?

Anyone who has the latest patch has already got all of the DLC so don't worry about it. Make sure it is enabled under the options menu in the launcher (it should be by default), you can use it to disable undesired DLCs if you want.

I don't see that particular piece of add-on content in my DLC list, hence my question.

As Wazhai pointed out, all the DLC is automatically installed and activated when patching the game. Those codes were just an early goody and the content has long been made available to all players.

I'm not sure about what's in the list, and what is not, but if there's SOMETHING on the list, the Mysterious Merchant should be active and ingame as well, unless something is severely broken. Just go ahead and play the game.
For now, don't worry about it and once you're in Act I's town, you should be able to find the merchant there - if not, come back and we'll figure out what's going on.

Nope, you're confusing the Mysterious Merchant with the Monk in the Inn who you can play dice with. The Mysterious Merchant sells some rare and useful stuff, like runes etc.

You should be able to click the launcher>Options and select advanced then look in the lower right of the window for DLC settings
