Hello all!

I as wondering if the clever and knowledgeable among you, well, anyone really, knew what exactly is going on with the Bruxa (at least they look like Bruxa) that...guards?...lives?...at the large tree just after you cross the river into the area with the bandit hideout. At night when place is crawling with drowners I approached the tree with the dead elf that is carrying the throwing daggers and a Bruxa lept out at me with the name Lara. I gave an unmanly cry, rolled away and it disappeared. I walked around and could not find it. When I saw Lara I thought of the Elven sorcerous, but thought it a very far fetched for that to be her. Did some poking around on the web, only Lara the sorcerous is mentioned. Reloaded and went back to the tree, but this time I was attacked by Xynthia and later a Brenthia or something close to that name (A nasty backstab gave me just a quick glance at the name).

Well I guess its time I properly state my question:

1.Is there something obvious I missed here (I bet there is)?
2. Has this already been addressed and answered?
3. Is there a cool allusion to past/present/or even future events referenced in either game and /or book?
Is it nothing at all really and I am just being silly?

Cheers

EDIT: Well I feel a proper fool, and a blind one at that. Here is an excerpt from the witcher wiki after a simple Bruxa search. O well.

Chapter I - Near the Bandit hideout, beneath the tree with hanging elven corpses. It only spawns at night, and will have a randomised female name. It will only spawn once per playthrough. Similarly,a wraith will also spawn once per playthrough, also with a unique name. Both have unique drops, namely a junk silver ring. This Bruxa does not drop Bruxae teeth. The Bruxa and the Wraith are probably the spirits of the elven couply hanging from the tree, probably a sidequest that got axed from production.

The Elven names certainly support this insight. Guess this thread was silly after all. Apologies all.

Not so silly or the need for apologies. I think we all pretty much thought the same thing on our first plays almost some 18 months ago.

Speak for yourself. I was on my third playthrough before I even realised you could explore that area :)
(And yes, when I finally did meet my bruxa, I posted a query on it)

Yeah I found the place by accident and like to never found the way back out. I was flat out lost for the longest time. Then of course there were the drowners and drowned dead. Finally I thought "home free" when I saw the corpses hanging. But that was not the case that time. Low on health from the previous said monsters and then the wraith did me in.
