when i open up the witcher 2 for the first time it doesn't give me a explorer.exe crash but when i close the game and open it the second time and so on it just keeps saying explorer.exe crashes and restarts

i've got 3.2 installed and everything is at stock settings cpu and gpu. my temps are fine also.

i get another error when i restart/shutdown my computer. Explorer.exe Application error. the instructions at 0xeded3a00 referenced memory at 0xeded3a00. The memory could not be written

This isn't a typical problem relating to the game. Have you checked your Windows error logs?

First impression would be to run a test on your memory using either the builtin memory tester or with Memtest
2nd would be to check your 3rd party or unsigned non Microsoft drivers
Also running the game in a clean boot state may help . Details here

What type of drive or drives do you have installed. Also is this a laptop or desktop. Might want to list all hardware that you have installed.

sorry about the trouble! but i managed to fix it. If anyone is running AMD CCC 12.10 update to 13.1, which luckily for me came out today. it fixed the problem which related to explorer.exe crashing every 3-4 minutes caused by the file in system32 called atiumd64.dll. So AMD 13.1 drivers have fixed the issue!
