I've noticed that TW2's cutscenes/dialogues are similar to programs on TV series which makes sense to me since it is heavily story driven. But do you guys think that it is possible to have a cinematic cutscenes on TW3?

Pretty much, yes. The times where characters in dialogues in RPGs only moved their lips and where the camera simply switched between faces is over.

Sadly.
Cinematic cutscenes are a huge waste of budget, they usually come at expenses of large chunks of content and they tend intrinsically to force games toward more linearity, but for some reason many modern gamers seem to appreciate them a lot, which is damn a plague in the RPG genre.

Well if they cooked up 52 and a half just for marketing, makes me wonder how expensive they really are. To me scenes like Cedric dying, Triss undressing, talking to Sile up close to see if she really does have dark brown eyes or the eyes of a shark, I really enjoy those moments. By contrast, the beginning of Skyrim when the dragon swoops in, an event of epic proportions according to TES lore, fell completely flat because it wasn't done in a cutscene.

The Witcher 1&2 are as far along the cinematic path as i'd wish to go, they're after all games not movies. That being said I thought the cutscenes of Assassins of Kings were masterfully done, and shamed the competition with their detail and subtlety (with the obvious exception of the ill explained loss to Letho,) but still gameplay trumps all. I want to do not watch.

More action and reaction, choice and consequence threaded into those cutscenes and i'd be one happy bunny.
I was once asked by a journalist what my thoughts were on the modern world slipping into ignorance and apathy, I told him, "I don't know and I don't fucking care!"

I would love cgi cutscenes, and actually something different than the first 2 witchers. The flashbacks in the first were beautiful and TW2 was good to watch, both were good in their own ways.

The execution of the cutscenes are pretty good. No need to change it to a dull in game conversation *cough* skyrim *cough* crap.

There was a general lack of or range of emotions for most of the game. I found the characters only had one or 2 facial expressions. they don’t need full CGI cutsenes but they need to better a job in regards to facial animation. If you look at a game like half life 2 it had better facial animation, even if the game was not as good from a graphics stand point

While TW2 had very good cinematic moments (I'm in the camp that applauds Letho's defeat of Geralt as great use of cinematics), it had some pretty weak moments, particularly the battle of Vergen on Iorveth's path (in addition to gameplay problems). It could have been more epic, than seeing Iorveth with 4 elves shooting arrows at 3 Kaedwenis.

Vergen was indeed a weak point. I thought the scene where Iorveth and the four elves appear on the cliffs was really cool, but they should've shown a hell of a lot more elves after that scene ends. You never get a sense of it being an epic battle.

My opinion, they should have kept Geralt on the fringes of the battle, and just shown smaller melee's like when infiltrating Vergen on Roche's path. It worked in the prologue.

Hope next time they fix texture clipping in cutscenes. It really break immersion when suddenly every rock, piece of wood and Geralt's hair want to give me epilepsy. Shadows are another problem, just look at Letho in cutscene with Iorveth.
