[Solved] Aerondight not importing from TW1 to TW2

That being said, Aerondight isn't really all that great. It was my favoured weapon in TW1 since by the time you get it you don't need to use a Steel sword at all even on Hard, but it is eclipsed in TW2 as soon as you reach Flotsam, at which point it either decorates your stash or earns a few dozen Orens. So annoying as not having Aerondight may be, you aren't missing much.
I was hoping that Aerondight would be important in TW2 and that its destiny would be played out a bit, but alas this was not to be.

(I don't see why you wouldn't, but like "is it plugged in?", it has to be asked. I have never seen Aerondight fail to import; that's a new one on me.)
There's a big library of saves in this thread: http://en.thewitcher...t-to-witcher-2/

How ever I tried some other peoples save files and noticed they haven't made the Silversword(s) better with runes.. I did that with mine. So I don't have actually Aerondight anymore, only the improved rune sword version. I did not find any confirmation to this Silversword ain't importing when it has been upgraded but I think that is the case.
Even tried to recover some deleted files so if I could find some old saves, and I did find but the file names are messed up and error just comes up when trying to load a file ingame. I guess this has something to do save file missing the qst infos or something. Don't know really.
But anyway, I know these items are kinda useless but I just wanted them for some RP purposes and so on. Guess I have to play TW1 again someday in the future and then again TW2

It sounds like you had Aerondight, which could not be improved with runes in TW1, and the silver sword, which you did improve with runes.
You can have only one silver sword in inventory. If you arrange to keep another, it is only kept in storage. But items from your storage do not import. If you had your silver rune sword in inventory, and Aerondight in storage, then the game is working as designed, because it does not import any silver sword except Aerondight or Moon Blade.
If you want to get Aerondight to import, you must import a save in which you have Aerondight, not your silver sword, in inventory.

In TW1, if you try to "improve" Aerondight with permanent runes, it ceases to be Aerondight any longer, it becomes run of the mill silver sword with runes you have put on it.
Think about Aerondight as a generic silver sword improved with unique runes, runes the player has no way to acquire. It you have them removed, replaced with generic ones... well it is not Aerondight at this point.
