Well I just started the Witcher 2 on the 360. I'm at the part where you go to the first major town (Flotsam I think, with the sea creature you have to fight). Anyway, I made the mistake of having my sword unsheathed and at the time and I couldn't remember how to re-sheath it, so then I also made the mistake of hitting a guard. So now I can't go anywhere in town without being attacked by guards. Is there any way to fix this? I tried waiting a day or two, but that didn't work. I've heard after a bit of time they go neutral again, but how long? Do I have to pay a fee somewhere to get them neutral again at a building or something? I'm stuck....

Stop right there, criminal scum! /Oblivion.
I dunno. I think you'll have to re-load to an earlier save; the game prompts you to sheathe your weapon if you draw it while in the guard house (I've never had a problem andering around in towns with weapons drawn, though NPCs comment frequently as I pass), and the guards warn you before they attack, so...
If you're that early on, it shouldn't be too painful to reload to an earlier save file and avoid the problem. It might break some quests if the guards are always hostile, but I couldn't say for sure- there's only one it would be likely to effect. If you aren't having trouble killing the guards I guess you could always just farm them for gold and XP. The guards in Flotsam are unpleasant sorts, so you're actually doing the place a favour by thinning their ranks.

I was afraid of that
/> The last save I had was from before killing the drowners in the swamp area when you look for a trace of the sea monster. I didn't do too much after that, just killing the bandits you encounter in town that are looking for you after you come back. It just stinks because those drowners were a pain to fight lol.
Thanks for your help guys

Have you tried sitting on the outskirts for a bit? They'd have to lose their hostility state eventually. I can't imagine CDPR made it so that once you piss off the guards, you have to reload. ›››
No, I've only tried waiting in the city in the non-human district (the only area in the city where Im "safe"). I can try that though
