The load times are unbearable-to the point of giving up on this game. I loved the first one and have enjoyed the little ive been able to accomplish so far in w2. The load times are so long if it even loads at all. Also mouse is floaty in game -works at load screen but to choose conversation or stats it is floaty.
Any suggestions?? amd HD 4650 amd 2x4 925 proc

Load times are heavily dependent on the disk system. Are you running a nearly-full disk, or have you kept a large number of game saves? How recently have you defragmented your hard disk?

From when I launch the game it takes ages for it to load, that is after I skip the Letho cutscene..
It also takes a while for it load saves and it takes even longer to load the saved game list.

Help, pretty please? I'll give you 10 orens?

If either of you are running the Steam version then sometimes it seems like it takes forever to load the game. At present that`s the version i`m using and yes sometimes it takes a full two minutes to just get to the load game screen. I did not have this issue with either the disc version or GOG version.

But do try and answer Guy N`wah`s question. How much free space do you have on your hard drives and how recent since the last defrag?

Also make an exception in your antivirus programs for the witcher 2 just in case real time scanning is slowing the game down.

@ Kreeture a 4650 is below minimum specs for this game but it will run it. At low specs and a resolution of 1280 x 720 might improve it a little for you.

I have the dark version, I have around 200gb free on one of my drives but I think it's been like several months since I last defragged it though that doesn't usually make the games I run slow, it's just TW2.

You can`t :P . When you said dark version it threw me back a bit and it never hurts to be absolutely certain. Several months? then go ahead and defrag. Did you make the exception in your antivirus program?
