Why would sparing Henselt be bad for the north especially when you decided to save Triss as well? It means the North has a strong Kaedwen as well as the Conclave to help it. I also very much doubt Sile and Phillipa would not use Saskia to help the North in the war.
The whole notion Henselt working with Nilfgaard is ridiculous. Sure he made a deal during the last war...then promptly fucked them over with it. ( That deal saved the North there since Henselt send his army into the Pontar Valley and denied the eastern Nilfgaardian army entry into Temeria through it )

Hard to say which is the definitive "pro-Nilfgaard" run but here are some "good" choices for that.
TW1
Neutral Path
-Kill Ada/Siegfried/Yaevinn
TW2
- Kill Aryan
- Kill Henselt
- Kill Dragon
- Kill Stennis (Iorveth Path)
- Kill Sile
- Give Megascope to Adalbert and/or Cynthia

Was just speaking in a general sense. I don't suppose that Henselt really has the gusto to aid in the Northern defense as much as we might think. If anything, he'll return to his bickering with the other countries, and he and Radovid seem at each other's throats. To rely on a proper alliance is unlikely, but it is true that a temporary alliance is better than no alliance. If it keeps the Northern states in one piece (even if it's divided handily among the kings) I guess it's all right. In the end though, our path is not having us concerned with the greater politics, instead with Nilfgaard and its forces. Both Southern states are still mostly unoccupied and unorganized (is there any path where Demavend's situation is amended?) and it will be a hard fight in any case. I do hope that we don't have to see the immediate ramifications of the political situation, and it can be evenly spread over further games.

Iorveth's path with Stennis alive.

Well certainly there will be that and hell it already was in the last war. But there will be an alliance.
But with him dead then well let's just say it will end a lot worse.
